I was out tending to my rose bushes when I noticed that a tomato plant is growing right in the middle of all my rose bushes. I didn't plan it there. I actually had 3 ripe small tomatoes and about 20 green ones. That was a nice suprise

Maybe the birds left a seed dropping in the spring?

Went out for a pizza with my wife. Sadly the special offer we'd hoped to take advantage of had finished, but we enjoyed a full price pizza anyway

Lifting boards in my attic and digging through the ancient cellulose insulation I finally found a cable I've been hunting for a while. Now I can pull it out and replace it

Enjoying a most delicious mix of basmati rice, chickpeas, lentils, pepitas, toasted sesame seeds, honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, paprika, cayenne pepper, cumin seed, black pepper spices, garlic, onion and bran oil. Plus some lettuce.

I wrote a bunch of other stuff here. I decided not to post it, lol.

Woodworking - went to the local sawmill to get the wood I need to make new sides for the bed frame I bought, then cut it to size and started to stain it. Next I need to cut a 2x4 in half lengthways to make the brace for it, then get some plywood to cut the cross supports for the box spring.

Then I took to making a hole in the wall in our bedroom closet so I can run cables through it. Along the way I happened to find a particular cable I needed to locate, which was handy. I'm not sure why whoever installed it put it just there, but I found it nonetheless. With the hole in the wall I also managed to measure the wood I was trying to drill through from above, and figured I must have been very close to getting through it. I would have finished the job but it meant working in the attic and the temperature was in the 90s so I didn't fancy that.

It's always fun making holes in lath and plaster walls in a confined space shared with clothes that don't want to be covered in fine dust, so I had to work slowly and run the shop vac every once in a while to fill it up.

After that lot I put my feet up and cracked open a cold beer.

I just finished peeling some vegetables for dinner. Carrots, potatoes, onion, and apple to be cooked in vegetable stock and then some sour cream used to enrich the mix

No, only an hour's walk in the local park just to get out and get some air. I wish I could go farther but I don't want to exert myself at this time.

Waiting for lunch to cook, then thinking about going to watch for migrating raptors. This evening I'm going to see a friend for a barbecue. Very much a day of rest as far as trashing my house is concerned

Yes! I love the hills. Well except when I'm tired and I know how many are left on my walk LOL

Hills make for a good workout. I like walking in the hills but at the end of my last walk I was sooooooo glad that the last three miles or so were all downhill!
