You teach Judaiser 101 to remain in bondage. It's sad.

Then if you are the Christian you claim, you are praying for me fervently...

Your prayers are my treasury...

Im talking about fish hat wearing Popes and the Vatican. Which you are not affiliated. Yes they were bad people at one time. Thats all I meant

Rome separated from the Communion of the Eastern Churches in the 11th Century, and we have not been in Communion for the last thousand years... She thinks we rebelled against the Pope's Supremacy over the Church on earth, and we think She became Apostate and Heretical from the Body of Christ... She did become militant, and attacked and weakened the Orthodox peoples of Constantinople in the 4th Crusade, raping and pillaging there for some 50 years or so, sending shipload after shipload of looting back to Europe... So that whereas Rome was the most persecuted Church of the first thousand years, She became the persecuting Church thereafter, until She was too weakened to be successful at it, while still claiming the Authority of Headship of the Church on earth in virtue of having possession of the "Chair of Peter"...

So that the Church which you thought was THE Church in the mid-second Millennium Reformation against the Roman Pontif is by our standards a very prodigal and apostatic Church - Still Apostolic, and still capable of correction if willing, but now, after a thousand years of pioneering new doctrines, has a great deal to recover from... And recover She will, in God's Time...

The Treasury of the Orthodox Faith is obedience to Christ...

The Treasury of the Latin Church is the authority of the Chair of Peter...

The Treasury of the Reformation is the authority of the Bible...

These are three very different things...

The Catholic church was hardly ever persecuted.
Let the hundreds of English, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish martyrs of the Faith know that they were not persecuted as they were hanged, or hanged, drawn, and quartered as traitors to the English Crown because they were Catholic and refused to worship as Anglicans. And tell it to the tens of thousands in Europe, Africa, and the Americas who were killed or tortured or imprisoned for the same reasons. Tell it to the "caravan" of mainly Catholic Christians today who are vilified by USA president and politicians. Vilification is far less cruel than the headsman's axe and the torturer's rack. Cruelty and murder as well as martyrdom were performed by all sides in the days of the Protestant revolt and the Catholic Reformation.
The Catholic church did most of the persecution of bible thumpers.
That was the past, and you are orthodox so after the counsel of Nicaea you would have nothing to do with it historically.
Heck even Luther encouraged violence in those days... so now what?
We are all one body and -the expression "catholic" originally just meant the general 'body of Christ' of believers, a term that later backfired

This thread is becoming too aggressive and the value has gone downhill. I'm closing this and asking Romanos on his objective opinion if it should remain closed.
