Welcome to Christianity Haven, thank you for visiting! If you have not already, we invite you to create an account and join in on the many discussions we have!
I suppose that if you've grown up in a denomination that was created out of thin air, not even from a schism, less than 200 years ago, it would be easier to accept the Roman Catholic version of church history wouldn't it?
Still, she talks as though she is first reading the Bible, which makes me wonder if she didn't just get taken to church along with the family while she was growing up and not much more than that.

I am listening to her story and thinking she sounds and looks very young. Then I got to thinking, would I be thinking the same thing if the same words were coming from the mouth of a mid thirties man? Well, I do not know but it is a thought.
There is likely a lot more to the conversion that she is undertaking (or is it God undertaking it in her?) than the vlog reveals. It is, in my opinion, difficult to give an adequate account of all the factors that lead to personal conversion from one way of life to another. Her vlog is abbreviated I think and for me her voice, tone, and content is not persuasive even if it represents part of her story it does not appear to be a carefully thought through presentation.
I see nothing wrong with this. Good for her.
Luther was Catholic![]()
If Lizzie had converted to Lutheranism, I'd be deeply embarrassed.
I don't think she's even aware of liturgical Protestant alternatives, to be honest, Josiah, either Lutheran or Anglican.
Somehow I think I'm supposed to be surprised... Am I supposed to be surprised?
I agree with the point about the Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Lutheran churches. I think, if given a choice, I'd be drawn a bit more to a conservative Anglican church - none of which exist around me. There's a congregation of about 10 or so members about an hour away (or more). Other Anglican churches here are quite liberal - more than I am comfortable with. Unfortunately, the Lutheran church where I attend (LCC/LCMS) is fairly 'modern', having given up most of the liturgy to attract young families. Imo, there's no better reason to retain the liturgy, but they didn't ask me. If I want a true liturgical Lutheran service, I'd be looking at about an hour's drive.
... we've all been on pins and needles.
