It was super humid this morning and about to rain, so I just did some loops around my street. I stopped when some neighbors had their landscapers come to trim their bushes because I didn't want my allergies to get bad.

I went for a walk yesterday morning. My wife and I were watching our grandchildren for the afternoon and into the evening, so I wanted to get some exercise in before we picked them up.

Wrangling the girls is sometimes exercise in itself, although the weather wasn't great so running around having a big water fight wasn't much of an option.

Possibly, as long as it doesn't mean wading through 46 pages of terms and conditions.

Today was sunny and not too hot so I went for a run. Not breaking any speed records, today was about keeping a reasonable pace and getting the miles in. Along the way I passed a house where a guy was cutting up a fallen tree, so arranged to go back and get some of the wood. This afternoon I turned two bowls out of the wood, one of which is earmarked for the tree owner.

The wood turned out to be beautiful. From the outside it doesn't look like anything special but the grain pattern is amazing

It's much cooler here. I think we're watching our granddaughters again today so I don't know what we'll end up doing. There's a chance they'll want to stay with their big sister (she's 16, so old enough to watch them but also young enough to not always want to watch them). If they do we might go take a walk in the woods.

Today the youngest granddaughters decided to stay home with big sister, so I went for a walk in the woods. A little under 8 miles up and over the mountain to my vista. It was good to get out into the fresh air, I needed a hike more than I needed a run today.

My wife and I went for a hike in the woods. We took a route with rolling hills rather than a blast straight up the side of the mountain, but there were a few fairly long hills in it. All in all it was a little over six miles. There were a few trees down which made following narrower trails interesting, but a nice hike.

Another gentle run today. My watch clocked it as a tempo level run but part way through my heart rate monitor latched on to my running cadence. I know that's happening when I'm not feeling any particular stress, finding the run nice and easy but my heart rate is shown as 170. If I push my heart rate to 170 and above I usually know I'm pushing it hard. But when my watch thinks I'm running at that intensity it ranks it as a harder run, even though the vast majority of it was pretty easy.
