In all seriousness, take up music (if you don't already, I don't know). Just playing it helps to improve spacial reasoning. Composing it involves a mixture of math based logic (for horizontal (time) relationships and vertical (harmony) relationships) and creativity within given frameworks. But don't do it just to be "smart" - do it because it's fun and you love it.

Well, then a calculus-based physics course at the university level would be a perfect place to continue. Physics really came alive when Newton came along. Once you've had about 4 semesters of calculus/physics, you can really begin to figure out how a lot of things work. Courses in differential equations are especially useful for the physical sciences.

I did pass one exam on the university in math and it was a very difficult one, a lot had to do it over and over. That was before they kicked me off university saying I was too stupid for it. Can you believe it? Lol. But serious, Stravinsk is right about music. Do you know how I pumped all that nonsense in my brain and was somehow able to blur it out with an exam? (only used my short term memory btw, I know nothing about it anymore) Fats Domino. I studied physical geography for a year. I pumped all the information in my head with Fats Domino singing loud on my walkman.

Well Mark isn't apparently going to answer my question, but I'll give him a chance to answer the follow up :

If Earth rotates on it's axis once in a 24 hour period...(obviously putting it to the same position after 24 hours)

And it's 12 midnight in the Winter Solstice at a given location (so the position is facing away from the Sun)

In 6 months time, the Earth will now be on the other side of the Sun

And it will still be 12 midnight, or very close to, given daylight savings time (give or take an hour) - only this time - the position will be facing the Sun.

Except that it isn't. Every 6 months here in Australia I do not need to change my clock by 12 hours.

Got an answer for this problem?

Yeah, the sun was coming up, so I went to bed. I simply didn't feel like trying to explain the difference between a solar and sidereal day, when I know it would be refused anyway.

It was a logical argument neurone. I think it's most logical to conclude it's impossible to prove the earth is round or we should all just go to space. Would be a nice ch trip.

Cool, so I looked into it and based on a 30 day month, it works out to exactly 12 hours. 4min a Day * 30 * 6 = 720 720/60 = 12 hours.

The math works out, but our eyes still tell us that the earth orbiting the sun is a lie. You can go outside and clock the movements of the sun, or watch numerous time lapse videos (such as I have posted in the NASA/Facebook thread in the news section) and the Sun grows larger as it nears and shrinks as it retreats.

That is what our eyes tell us - but completely conflicts with the Heliocentric model - because a sun 93 million miles away will not appear to shrink or grow - only a local sun will do that.

It also conflicts (the model, that is) with numerous other evidences (also posted in that thread) such as hot spots directly under the sun taken from high altitude balloons.
