So I've never really read the bible except for maybe a couple of pages. What's the best way to read it? It's so big! Should I start with an audio book or app? If so what do people recommend?
I would encourage any new believer to start reading the Bible every day. Begin with three NT books.
1. John,
to know Jesus
2. Romans,
to understand how Jesus' teachings applied to the churches
3. 1 John,
to know how to live out the gospel in everyday life
Once you have read these you will have a good foundation from which to then carry on with further studies. The other gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke will help you see different views of Christ Jesus, Acts, also written by Luke, will fill out the story of the start of the Church.
I would recommend a the New King James Version {NKJV} is a modern update to the KJV thus easier to read and understand.
Have a book in which to make notes of passages that stand out to you.
Example
John 1:17 The OT law convicts of sin the NT grace and truth saves from sin.
