The article was written by a guy who didn't want to get guilted into going to "church" for whatever reason. So he wants to stop using that word because it made him feel bad. That sounds a lot like today's society of people who start to feel bad, so let's make it stop by doing ____ fill in the blank.
Going to church is not the bad thing that the author has a difficult time overcoming. We get fed on God's Word in church and that is NEVER a bad thing.
1. when did church become a place we are commanded to "go to " ? that is a man made manipulative theology , there is no scripture to base that on. and that's the point of the article
the word ecclesia means the
assembly ... it does not denote a "place you go to " nor dictate a time you do so .
the greek/english interlinear puts it this way ecclesia= OUT-CALLED.. (as in those
called out of the world who then gather together . and there is no command nor directive in scripture to gather under a roof at
a certain place or at
a certain time the assembling of the called out ones was ,in the book of acts done daily from house to house as they went around obeying the holy Spirit .
2. how well do you know the author of the blog that you can so categorically state such a thing about him ?
I know him enough to know you could not be more incorrect in your assumption. he and his wife a very young baby are presently traveling all over the place ,laying hands on the sick and healing them ,preaching the gospel ,driving out demons baptising people into christ jesus and seeing them baptised in the holy ghost ALL in obedience to the direct command of JEsus to do so ... and they know they are being baptised in the holy ghost because of the evidence that the people begin to speak in tongues ... / -while
in contrast others go to a building on sunday listen to a sermon and do nothing in way of obeying what Jeuss commanded us to do .nor are they trained to do so.
