I've been re-reading Knowing God my J. I. Packer. I'm definitely getting more out of it this time.

With respect to Christian fiction I would highly recommend the 19'th century author George MacDonald. His best known works are fantasies, especially Phantastes. He is considered a premier writer of that genera and was a major influence on CS Lewis and Tolkien. His non-fantasy Christian fiction is overlooked outside Christian circles but includes some of his best writing and was highly regarded in the 19'th century. You can Google his novels which are widely available. If anyone wishes additional information on his novels and short stories please let me know.

I would also recommend Francena Arnold and Christmas Carol Kauffman two twentieth century Christian authors.
