I just recently stumbled on a ranking of the 30 worst fast food franchises in North America. Being a Canadian it is not surprising that I was not familiar with some of them. But I did notice three of them in particular. Kentucky Fried Chicken was rated 20th worst. Our local outlet is very inconsistent in the quality of its product. Burger King was rated 5th worst and McDonalds was worst. I was surprised at how poorly they were rated. Luckily we have both A&W and Harveys neither of which made the infamy list.

I also saw that listing and thought that it was not very convincing. Most of the analyses were based on some single gripe that the survey chose to make into its whole case against the restaurant, and no matter what anybody thinks of McDonald's, placing them dead last was ridiculous.

I no longer eat at either place. But when I did, I like McDonald's fries and fish sandwich and Burger King burgers but didn't like their fries. I didn't like the taste of the drinks either place had.

I ate at Burger King this afternoon for the first time in nearly a decade. They had something on the menu that they could offer without all the goop on it, so essentially what I had was a big cheeseburger with bacon and pickles. It was surprisingly good. I am no longer hostile to eating at Burger King.
