Feast of Tabernacles
Leviticus 23:33-44. The LORD said to Moses, 34. "Say to the Israelites: `On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the LORD's Feast of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days. 35. The first day is a sacred assembly; do no regular work. 36. For seven days present offerings made to the LORD by fire, and on the eighth day hold a sacred assembly and present an offering made to the LORD by fire. It is the closing assembly; do no regular work.

The Feast of Tabernacles is known as the Final fall harvest of the Land, and on the eighth day will be the final harvest of souls with the Lord’s Return. The Feast of Tabernacles is in the fall on the Jewish Calendar in the month of Tishri 15-21 which would be September - October depending on the year.

Then come the signs and wonders showing Yeshua's soon return. Then shall they see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. When the book of revelation is opened at the voice of the seventh angel, then the mystery of God is finished.

We are seeing darkly, as through a looking glass, but there will come a time when it will be clearly seen. Does that mean that everyone looking into Revelation is wrong or right? With a glimmer, that people see, they are getting the impression, of the events that will soon transpire. When the book of Revelation is opened for its last present tense, it will be like a curtain going up on a stage, and we will see all the world characters in their true colors as the last act to be preformed as God said it would be.

Maybe that is why you are noticing so many books, studies and comments from believers on the subject of the end of time. The Holy Spirit is moving upon the minds of men to study this subject now more than ever. The Holy Spirit is also inspiring them on the subject in answer to their prayers regarding the last days of earth’s history.

Since we have clouded and befuddled minds full of this worldly religion, our minds relates everything it understand to what we already believes or have yet to be convicted of. If the conviction goes against what we believe, it takes longer to convert, if conversion will occur. This is where controversy lies. If you have ever found yourself which the peace that passes all understanding, then prayerfully re-examine that which you believe.

The Holy Spirit is pressing an important conviction of truth upon you for your salvation. The controversy will end when you stop wrestling with the Word of God to fit what you have already been told. The controversy will end when you allow God to lead you into all truth. Unless you are lucky to be like Paul with a Damascus experience, it will be extremely hard for you to believe that you are fighting God's work. God wants there to be no question in anyone’s mind when he returns. He is calling every one to come talk with Him now.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will eat with him, and he with me.

Sin will be dealt with and we will say Amen. For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time. Even the devil knows that there is an end to this world, do you?

The Feast of Tabernacles (Booths / Sukkot/ Ingathering) began on the 15th day of the 7th month, and, therefore, began 5 days after the Day of Atonement. During those intervening 5 days, the Israelites worked in their fields, harvesting the final crop of the year. At the conclusion of that harvest, and with many of the harvested (in gathered) fruits and crops actually hanging on the walls of their booths (tabernacles / tents), the Feast of Tabernacles began, a feast which lasted 8 days (7 days of the Feast plus the Sacred Assembly which was held on the 8th day, so it is part of the Feast also). It was also called Booths. The Feast of Tabernacles occurred at the end of the fall harvest which concluded ALL of the harvests.

On the Second Coming of Yeshua, we are not to know the day or the hour but we can know the season. We do have a promise found in the Feast of Tabernacles which is a promise of His return. This Feast is also called the “Feast of In-gathering”. It is blessed picture of the Scriptural Harvest! Succoth is the third pilgrim Feast, when Israel was to come before God in Jerusalem. It is important in the last days to keep the Feast of Tabernacles for we know not when the Lord will return but we have His promise to keep His Word. In the Words of the Feast of Tabernacle are found the promises of His return.

"And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left . . . shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. And it shall be that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.” This shall be the punishment of spiritual Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

The seventh feast of the Levitical convocations is the Feast of Tabernacles. Tabernacles represent the fullness of the indwelling of God in us. It is God's purpose to dwell (Tabernacle) among His people. God is building His Temple in us, the body of Christ, that He might have a dwelling place in which and through which He can abide among all the nations of the earth.

The seventh Feast of the Feast cycle, is part of the prophetic plan, pointing to the completion of God’s His plan of Salvation, preparing for the time the faithful will enter into the great Sabbath.

“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Yeshua stood and cried saying, 'If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the Scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.' (But this spoke he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet glorified.) Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, 'Of a truth this is The Prophet.”

God's plan of human redemption to the glory and likeness of His Son will not be completed and finished until the mystery of God is finished.

The Feasts of Tabernacles lasted seven days only, yet at the end of this feast; on the eighth day is a Holy Sabbath. It was a separate feast, a one day festival.

King Solomon dedicated the temple during Feast of Tabernacles which you may read in 1 Kings chapter 3. Therefore because of this event, this festival is also called the Feast of Dedication. It was celebrated after the Babylonian captivity.

Then the Lord my God will come and all his holy ones with him. On that day the sources of light will no longer shine, yet there will be continuous day! Only the Lord knows how this could happen! And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day there will be one Lord—his name alone will be worshiped. Jerusalem will be raised up in its original place and will be inhabited … And Jerusalem will be filled, safe at last, never again to be cursed and destroyed.

Josephus in his writings referred to the Feast of Tabernacles as the holiest and greatest of the Hebrew feasts. The seventh month begins with the Feast of Trumpets and ends with the Feast of Tabernacles. The Syriac name for the Pleiades is Succoth, which means booths.

The people would go and gather branches from olive and wild olive trees, and from myrtles, palms and shade trees, to make booths. On the first day of the feast, each participant had to collect twigs of myrtle, willow, and palm in the area of Jerusalem for construction of their booth. These "huts" or "booths" were constructed from bulrushes as joyful reminders of the temporary housing erected by their forefathers during the Exodus wanderings.

The "booth" in Scripture is a symbol of protection, preservation, and will be where the saints will be when they are fleeing from the wrath of the devil into the wilderness. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

These four species to make up the temporary tabernacle represent the unity, the victory, the sorrow over loss, and the love of God. Holding these four species symbolizes the need for the faithful in Almighty to utilize all their faculties in His service. With the palm we have finally the fortitude to go and sin no more. We have the victory that crowns Yeshua as our Lord of Lords, King of Kings. With the willow, we weep for those whom we have witnessed to and witnessed their decisions and we still confessed the Yeshua is our Christ and followed him. The citron is symbolic of our repentance and love for Yeshua. Our out life is now full with the flavor of Christ like characteristics. The mirtle is the symbolic of our faith and patient waiting for the Great and Terrible Day when Yeshua returns.

The rejoicing community included family, servants, orphans, widows, Levites, and sojourners The time will come when the Lord will gather them together one by one like handpicked grain. He will bring them to his great threshing floor—from the Euphrates River in the east to the brook of Egypt in the west. In that day the great trumpet will sound. Many who were dying in exile in Assyria and Egypt will return to Jerusalem to worship the Lord on his holy mountain. Then God will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on all the people of Jerusalem. God said they will look on Him whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died.
Besides the construction of the booths, the festival included the ingathering of the labor of the field , the ingathering of the threshing floor and winepress, and the ingathering of the fruit of the earth And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of the fall, is known as the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year.

Samples of the fall crop were hung in each family's both to acknowledge God's faithfulness in providing for His people. Zion is the mountain where God will reign. Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients glorious.

Many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD , to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. And He will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory . . . wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of His people shall He take away from off all the earth: for the LORD has spoken it.

Final Harvest should trigger the time of the resurrection on that last great day. We have gone from the first fruits of those resurrected to the final harvest which are those that will meet the Lord in the air, those that are alive and those that are woke up by the Trump of God in the feasts of the Lord. Jude refers to the same scene when he says, “Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds.”

When this work shall have been accomplished, and the followers of Yeshua will be ready for His appearing. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years. Then the believers which our Lord at His coming is to receive to Himself will be a "glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing." Then she will look like what Solomon described as "forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners."

On the eighth and final day of the feast, the high priest of Israel, in a great processional made up of priests and tens of thousands of worshipers, descended from the Temple Mount to pause briefly at the Pool of Siloam. A pitcher was filled with water, and the procession continued via a different route back to the Temple Mount. Here, in the midst of great ceremony, the high priest poured the water out of the pitcher onto the altar.

Since in Israel the rains normally stop in March, there is no rain for almost seven months! If God does not provide the "early" rains in October and November, there will be no spring crop, and famine is at the doorstep. This ceremony, then, was intended to invoke God's blessing on the nation by providing life-giving water. It is in connection with the Feast of Tabernacles and this eighth day that the gospel of John records a fascinating event. The Son of God was saying in the clearest possible way that He alone was the source of life and blessing; that He could meet every need of the human heart.

Doesn’t that remind you of Rev 22: 2 where we are brought to the throne of God? “In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” In the last day, that great day of the feast, Yeshua stood and cried, saying, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” 39 (But this spoke he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Yeshua was not yet glorified.)

The water and the "pillar of light" provided during the wilderness wandering (when people dwelt in tabernacles) was temporary and in contrast to the continuing water and light claimed by Yeshua during this feast which commemorated that wandering period.

The visions which speak of the coming of all nations to worship at Jerusalem refer to the Feast of Tabernacles on the occasion of their pilgrimage “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD's house shall be like the bowls before the altar. Yet, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seese therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.”
This feast speaks eloquently of Christ's millennial Kingdom - of a new beginning away from the ravages of the curse of sin.

In that day, the earth will give her full bounty, all animals will be docile, armies will no longer march, every man will sit under his own fig tree and righteousness will become a reality in the earth. “The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in my entire holy mountain, said the LORD.” But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken it.

In memory of the guidance and eternal presence of God in the desert as the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night, this festival is also celebrated as a festival of lights. When Yeshua spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

The eighth day... the great Day For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Yeshua shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Eight, as we know, is the number of resurrection, life, and a new beginning. In addition, it represents the commencement of the completion of Yeshua’s plan of redemption, dealing with the sin of man, which commenced in the Garden of Eden.

Then Lord will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle. On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.

On that day there will be no light, no cold or frost. It will be a unique day, which daytime or nighttime--a day known to Lord . When evening comes, there will be light. On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half to the Eastern sea and half to the western sea, in summer and in winter. Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord , and his name the only name.

The whole land, from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem, will become like the Arabah. But Jerusalem will be raised up and remain in its place, from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses. It will be inhabited; never again will it be destroyoud. Jerusalem will be secure. This is the plague with which Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.

On that day men will be stricken by Lord with great panic. And then at last, the sign of the coming of the Son of Man will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the nations of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send forth his angels with the sound of a mighty trumpet blast, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.

And so all Israel will be saved. Do you remember what the prophets said about this? “A Deliverer will come from Jerusalem, and he will turn Israel from all ungodliness. And then I will keep my covenant with them and take away their sins. But when the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near, Yeshua' brothers said to Him, "You ought to leave here and go to Judea, so that your disciples may see the miracles You do.

No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world." For even His own brothers did not believe in Him. Therefore Yeshua told them, "The right time for Me has not yet come; for you any time is right. 7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify that what it does is evil. 8 You go to the Feast. I am not yet going up to this Feast, because for Me the right time has not yet come."

Yeshua is indicating here that this feast will not have its fulfillment with His first coming, but that it will have its fulfillment. This leaves this feast fulfillment to happen with His second coming.

Interesting that the "name" of the last blast is called the "Tekiah Gedolah," and it is a single long blast that ends abruptly! In Jewish writings, this last blast is specifically called "the last trump" Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Yeshua.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be you stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Shofar calls Tekiah: One long blast with a clear tone. The Tekiah has to be long enough to be equal to, or greater than the total length of the Shevarim and the Teruah.

Shevarim: A crying sound of three short calls. Teruah: A rapid series of nine or more very short notes.
Tekiah Gedolah: "Great Tekiah," a single unbroken blast, held as long as possible. The Tekiah Gedolah needs to be at least twice as long as the Tekiah.

One day, God created the heavens and the earth. So now God has plans to destroy his work (the first draft) because of Sin, but He will recreate it new, where there will be no more sin. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. All the saints will be with Him and in His care. They will get to see the creative handy work of God first hand. And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Why is it so hard to believe that God is capable of doing this? If he says that the heaven will depart as a scroll when it is rolled together and that every mountain and island is moved out of their places, then he will. Should you not want to be able to stand on this great day and say “This is my God and I have waited for Him?”

Are you going to be one of those that hides himself from the wrath is come and will not be able to stand?

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither has the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he has prepared for him that waits for him. Nothing will be more beautiful and more real than the heaven and new earth that God re-creates. Since the first creation was old testament created to be destroyoud by sin and ultimately had to destroyed because of sin, God is going to do it again in re-creating a New heaven and New earth, knowing that now we know we will have the full knowledge of good and evil and will choose never to sin again.

We will have new bodies, and dwell with Christ. Our bodies will be transformed as Christ's was at the resurrection. We will build houses and inhabit them: ans "they shall plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them'... "mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands."

The Feast of Tabernacles is also pictured as the tabernacling of God with His people and with ALL who are His people. Will you not be glad to be physically there? To gain strength that is beyond what you have today. The promises are there for us all.

Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the yeths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. "the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind."

I also like the fact that God said "before they call, I will answer and while they are speaking, I will hear them" "The earth shall be fill of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." We each have things that we believe are beautiful in nature, God will create a New Heaven and a New Earth from scratch which will be more beautiful. It will not be marred by death or disease. As far as the variety of scenic views that will be in heaven and on earth to enjoy will be increased a thousand upon a thousand fold.

Why is it so hard to imagine that out in space are multitudes of God’s creations which habit other galaxies, other solar systems? We sit and watch science fiction regarding space battles in far away planetary places and we can not see that it could well be true. No so much the wars any more. For God said the war was over in Heaven. There will come a time when we will get to see all of heaven and all that God created in the entire universe and Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. So with that for variety, I think we will have plenty to admire and praise God for.

God said And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. Since we know that He wasn’t talking about Yeshua who was able to open the book, there is indication that there are other “men” in heaven. They are also called every creature, which gives you the understanding that they are not all looking as we do. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
