Jesus died for the sins of the world

The problem is that the phrase "for our sins" doesn't really clarify much because the adverb "for" could refer to various different things.

Why does Tobit say that fish guts cures blindness?

Some scientific studies have indeed shown the benefits of red wine upon the human gut flora / microbiome, but there is still insufficient research done on the matter. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/red-wine-health-benefits-study-gut-kings-college-london-a9081451.html

    Lämmchen's Blog Thread

Nice blog you have here. You could add emojis to represent your current mood instead of describing the mood through a word. 😐

    Lucian's blog thread

This is not your average blog thread. Here you will find short rants, updates about my life, that I feel comfortable with sharing, and all sort of random things that will likely be very short/brief because I am not fond of writing long posts anymore. Feel free to leave replies because I don't...

    Sunshine and puppies

And the confusing doctrine that "some believers randomly suffer because God is random and mysterious, and who are we to demand answers?" is any better? At least those people you criticize have the gift of encouragement.

    Sunshine and puppies

What if there are gods, but our morality has been so perverted by the evil of this world that we can no longer discern and comprehend the morality of the gods, so that we can live according to their morality? It is quite possible in this world to do evil while thinking that you're doing good...

What if we're wrong about our beliefs?

I don't want to do so because that would lead to my apostatizing the Christian faith and creating my own version of the Christian faith, which would likely spiral out into insanity as I come across new information that either disproves or alters previously-held beliefs.

What if we're wrong about our beliefs?

I have found that to be a wrong approach to making decisions because I can be easily persuaded by anything that is logical and coherent. If I were to apply the method you mentioned, I'd probably go crazy because I'd be able to find logical arguments to support the vericity of many different...

What if we're wrong about our beliefs?

Not really, no. That's a false dichotomy. There is more than atheism and Christianity in this world. Well, if we are, then I'm probably doing something very wrong because, despite my two and a half year period of seeking God through almost daily prayer, frequent Bible reading, watching sermons...

What if we're wrong about our beliefs?

If your faith is strong enough as to not leave any room for doubt, this topic is not for you. Please move on and pray for the rest of us. If your faith isn't strong enough as to reject the question "what if we're wrong about our beliefs?", you're invited to answer how often and how intense your...

    Do you understand The Trinity?

How did you come to understand that? Did it just happen one day? Did you study any particular writing? Was the understanding dependent on anything you did in particular or was it offered to you by God's grace?

    The New Discrimination

That's not a good principle according to Christianity either. We are called to love our enemies, but not to fight for their right to live in sin. The world gradually shifted from one extreme to the other. No surprise there.

    Your favourite Desserts?

I like pretty much any type of sweets, but I prefer vanilla flavor for most cakes, ice-cream, puddings etc. I'm not a big fan of the chocolate flavor.
