    I had something I think was a mild case of COVID about three months ago. It seemed more like a cold than anything more severe. I didn't bother to test, I just kept away from people for a week until the symptoms were gone. It's not hard for me to do that.

    It varies. Something like my coffee grinder gets used two or three times a day but not for very long at a time. Some of my power tools can go days or sometimes weeks without being used but then get used extensively for a few days in a row, only to get cleaned off and put back in their storage...

    I'm sure AA has got a good idea of how to help addicts, I'm just saying that a one-size-fits-all approach often doesn't fit very well. Does that mean all the people in church who haven't hit some kind of rock bottom, spiritually speaking, aren't saved?

    Perhaps that might depend on the individual... some certainly need to bottom out but cutting someone off completely doesn't exactly leave the door open to talking to them when they realise they do need help.

    The best way to get a message through to them is obviously to cut them off so they don't hear anything from you at all, right? Am I missing something here? Is there no way to get a message through to them without mollycoddling them and without cutting them off from all contact?
