    ‘Green’ burial alternatives

Maybe he could have. We can only take coulda-would-shoulda so far before it turns into speculation. Anyone is free to prefer one or the other. My issue was that when you presented one option as "more respectful" than the other without anything to back your assertion it looked like a statement...

    Govt and small businesses

They could try and avoid burying small businesses in costs, fees and regulations. The trouble overall is that government has become far too big. The very wealthiest can pay accountants and utilise loopholes to avoid paying taxes while the middle classes get hammered and those at the lower end...

    ‘Green’ burial alternatives

In the days of Jesus they probably didn't have crematoriums so there were only so many options. If you prefer to be buried than cremated obviously you're free to do that. I just don't see anything to back your claim that one option over another "means something", I don't see how one is more...

    ‘Green’ burial alternatives

I'm not sure how putting a body in a solid box in the ground to turn to dust says anything of the sort. If we believe God can raise a body back to life, whatever has happened to it and however much time has passed, I don't see how one process or another indicates anything. If we were talking...

    ‘Green’ burial alternatives

Presumably the same God who can raise a body turned to dust by the passage of centuries can also raise a body turned to ashes by the fires of a crematorium, or indeed a body turned to ashes in the case of people killed in a fire. Presumably God can also raise a body torn apart by wild animals...

    ‘Green’ burial alternatives

I'm not sure leaving a body to turn to dust over the course of years, decades, centuries, makes a whole lot of difference when compared to cremation.

    Where's what's his name?

Just out of interest, is iBot fully sentient? I'm curious how iBot, presumably being a bot, can have a gender and religious affiliation and make an informed decision whether to accept the Nicene Creed or not.

    Targeting air conditioners

Perhaps our exalted leaders could, you know, actually lead. By example. Shut off all the air conditioners in DC and then lecture the people about air conditioners. Funny how everything is allegedly for our benefit when all it does is drive the price ever-higher. Sometimes an ineffiicient model...

    Cremated remains

I saw a meme recently that said if you were cremated you could be put into an hourglass and still join in family game nights....

    Cremated remains

I guess it depends on the family. I don't know that I'd want cremated remains in my house. Yes, they were people I loved very dearly when they were alive but having some ashes in my house isn't going to bring them back.

    Temu

I don't buy much from Amazon any more because so many of the brand names look like someone headbutted the keyboard and accepted the result as their name; "We at DHUZZJKU take quality control serious. You won't regret buying from DHUZZJKU because we make good stuff. At DHUZZJKU we are committed...

    Northern Lights

I saw them from Norway, although nowhere near as spectacular a show as I've seen in pictures. What I saw was mostly streaks of green across a dark sky.

What will your next vehicle have tech wise?

Years ago I saw a web site based (I think) in the midwestern USA, that offered small engines you could mount to a rear shelf on a bicycle. Apparently these things could propel a regular bicycle to about 40mph and still return 100+mpg. It shouldn't be difficult to propel a regular bicycle at...

What will your next vehicle have tech wise?

Replacing the cable should be easy enough, and cables are pretty cheap. You can probably find a video on Youtube to show you how to do it.

Verse you realized was not what you thought

Not so much something I thought meant something different, but a church I attended a few times liked to present Job 22:28 - "you will declare a thing and it will be established for you" - and use it as justification to declare and decree things expecting them to come to pass. Although Job 22:28...

    Sermons written by ChatGPT

Abstract notions can be good but sometimes there's nothing like a clear image that anyone can picture to make a point. I like abstract notions but sometimes they can be, well, too abstract. My abstract thoughts may be so totally different from any image you conjure in your mind when I describe...

What will your next vehicle have tech wise?

What sort of brakes do you have? Unless you have disk brakes the chances are you don't need to take the wheel off to fix them unless you need to replace the brake pads. Caliper brakes and cantilever brakes are best adjusted with the wheel still in place so you can make sure everything aligns right.

    Sermons written by ChatGPT

I can't say I've looked at AI generated content in any detail. What I'm always conscious of, and a few people have commented on it when I've preached, is that visual illustrations often help to make a point and if those illustrations come from personal experience it gives it extra depth. One...

    Finland is offering free vacations

I've seen Norway and it's beautiful. I wouldn't say no to a free holiday. I don't care how cold it is - one place I'd really like to go to is Longyearbyen, far off the northern tip of Norway.
