Is it LAWFUL to kill animals?

Well, if you want to press that point, it's you who denies the immutable nature of God by denying the words of Holy Writ which authorize the killing of animals. And by the way, you talk about the "Witness of God" as though the Bible is NOT God's witness but that, instead, it's your own...

I'm pretty sure you misunderstood the meaning of that sentence ("if these books were divinely inspired, they couldn't be removed").

Yes. Exactly. Do we have to go through this again--explaining that your intentionally misleading use of words does not determine the answer to the question we're dealing with? You have had it explained to you again and again that "removed by protestant Bible Societies" is correct only to the...

The Catholic Church DOES base doctrine on the Apocrypha, however.

First, if these books were divinely inspired, they couldn't be removed, yet they were. Second, we have Luther's own testimony saying that they aren't equal to Scripture. How many more ways do we need Luther to say that the Apocrypha is not part of the Bible before being willing to accept it?

So what? It's not as though you've made your case without mentioning Luther! In fact, you've repeatedly said that Luther did X or believed X. So, it's time that the issue of the Apocrypha properly being considered inspired writings...or not...stands on its own.

"Luther’s most-famous quotation about the Apocrypha comes from his preface to the Apocrypha in his German translation of the Bible: 'These books are not held equal to the Scriptures, but are useful and good to read.' ” (from Shepherd of the Hills — Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod) Now, any...

Is it LAWFUL to kill animals?

I understand it very well, and what's more important, Scripture is on the side of everyone here except yourself when it comes to understanding what his will actually is. But since you have nothing more to offer and cannot rebut the many points made by everyone else here, we truly are at "case...

Is it LAWFUL to kill animals?

It's already been mentioned several times that Jesus personally approved of killing animals, so that's the witness you are talking about.

    What do the elders do?

The word in Scripture refers to the clergy, so the answer is that they officiate at worship services, administer the sacraments, counsel and teach, etc. Meanwhile, there is also a parish board of some sort made up of laypersons who handle--along with the rector/pastor--the financial, record...

Is it LAWFUL to kill animals?

You cannot pick and choose among Scripture verses in order to invent a belief. That's what you've done, even if we were to agree (for the sake of the argument) that the verses you keep posting say what you want them to say. Meanwhile, you've been shown verses that show conclusively that...

Is it LAWFUL to kill animals?

Since that isn't what has been revealed by this debate, let's move to your next comment. On the contrary, I've asked you some important questions in order to get at the truth of things, and it's you who chose to put this Biblical issue to the rest of us here. You are the person who wrote the...

In other words, you aren't affiliated with a church. Let's put it another way. Do you ATTEND any church? If so, what does it have to say about your peculiar view concerning the meaning of the commandment and murder?

On discussion boards, there are all sorts of personal opinions and some very strange theories getting posted, and we've taken note of yours. However, your theory isn't supported by Scripture, you haven't offered us even a logical basis for your stance, and the theory is virtually without any...

Is it LAWFUL to kill animals?

Oh, no. Later in Jesus' public ministry, he told his Apostles to let down their nets for a catch (this was after they had had little luck earlier), and the result was that they took in a big haul of fish. So, it was a miracle...yes, but it was also clear evidence that killing an animal is not...

    It is finished

The historians and linguists, as well as the Pope, say he spoke Aramaic; but you can believe whatever you want, I guess. It certainly is NOT the case that the Jews of Christ's day automatically spoke Hebrew as their first language just because they were Jewish.

Is it LAWFUL to kill animals?

That's right, and killing an animal is not a sin. Josiah explained that. In addition, it is verrrry unlikely that Jesus would -- according to the Bible -- have called a bunch of fishermen to be his closest associates, would have entrusted them with the responsibility of spreading his religion...
