    Josiah, pay careful attention to the phrases and see that not only is it salvation by grace that is the gift but it is also contrasted with works which do not "earn" it. Nobody, least of all Paul, is going to contend that faith earns salvation. Look at the passage without theological goggles...

    I cannot speak for others but for myself service in the body of Christ does not mean equality but rather mutual respect for the dignity and value of each person in the body because the body cannot function in any way other than mutual help and respect.

In Latin, in Greek, and in English there is a specific word for written communication and a specific word for spoken communication.
