    comparing 7 different denominations

Yes, I grew up in the Methodist church. There are a lot of them near me. Many of them are pretty small, but three or four seem to be growing. I do like the emphasis on discipleship in the Methodist church.

    comparing 7 different denominations

Yes. I have said that in the past. I'm not sure that it is a deal breaker though in terms of whether or not I will attend a church. I do feel like I need something different than what I have been experiencing (if that makes any sense at all). As I understand it, the congregations you...

    Funeral song?

when I was a chaplain in a nursing home I did a lot of funerals. MOst of them don't reflect the people the service is for. I would prefer to be cremated and have my ashes spread out at a lake or ocean. Just say a few words, sprinkle the ashes and then go eat some good food.

Do people live in a bubble?

I guess it depends on how exposed people are to other people groups or people who don't think like they do. My job is working with a wide variety of people, so I have been exposed to different views including religious that I don't personally have.

How often do you clean out closet?

I tend to mainly get rid of a few items at a time when I get new clothes. I tend to wear shoes out faster since I run, but I have had some business type shoes that I have probably had for 20 years too.

    2020: Polls Already Busy!

I noticed Beto O'Rourke is now running as a Democrat. He reminds me of Bobby Kennedy in some ways. People seem excited about him though I don't know much about him

What should happen to students in college admissions scam?

They should get kicked out of the school their parents got them into and go back and apply on their own to the school they want to go to. If they can get in on their own merits then good for them

    Experiment.

Good thread. Somehow I missed this until now. If by contradictions you mean that sometimes numbers don't seem to match I do think there are some scribal errors along the way, but they don't take away from the meaning of the text. As far as atrocities, I am thinking of the book of Judges for...

Pelosi not for impeachment, saying Trump isn't worth it

I think she realizes that even if the House impeaches him the Senate won't, so it is a waste of time really

Pelosi not for impeachment, saying Trump isn't worth it

"I'm not for impeachment," Pelosi said. "This is news. I'm going to give you some news right now because I haven't said this to any press person before. But since you asked, and I've been thinking about this: Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there's something so compelling...

Man lit neighbor's door on fire because he saw a ghost

They are really fortunate that he didn't kill either them or himself. He needs to be locked up somewhere where he can be supervised and put on medication

Procedures or surgeries make you queasy?

The only surgery I remember wanting was when my dad had his first knee surgery he played the video for us one time. My daughter passed out while watching it. It didn't bother me to watch it. We had to take my daughter to the emergency room because she had never passed out before. Loose...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 7

I think I may have sprained my ankle yesterday. It was hurting bad this morning, but feels a little better now. I got new shoes yesterday and the added support helps. I was out trailing running and tripped over some tree roots
