Air out your pet peeves here :)

This reminds me of when I used to chat on Skype with some friends from CF who were in their 20s and they'd type BRB but wouldn't return until a couple days later ;) I guess they didn't really know what the letters stood for???

    Justification

Where does God find us righteous? The only possible answer is the cross. Any other connections all go back to the cross.

Closing this for now for Staff Review. EDIT: It has been requested that the thread be closed and normally we do not close threads but in this case we have made an exception...we are not obligated to give the user's reason.

The Romans verse I quoted above in my post affirms that...the righteous will live by faith. It does not say that our living a sinless life will make us righteous....because none of us can do that. Being covered in Christ in faith we are righteous.

This is my body... Jesus doesn't say This symbolizes my body.

It depends really...but I could say one of many bible verses and that could include: Romans 1:17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” Now what does faith point to...

If you can get into a new apartment in the same building then you can do it slowly maybe? If I were close I would help!

Do you know why the Jews could not drink real blood? It is life. Jesus is life! Think on that for a bit.

You give him the Savior; always the one who saves. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus.

Could you post the scripture that insists it's symbolic? In remembrance of me says nothing about it being symbolic.

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

You keep coming up with scenarios that normal people would not do who understand how God works in baptism.

At least it's probably not a hundred degrees down there in the crawl space :) You're lucky it's not the attic, right?

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

Disciples are made "baptizing" and "teaching". Do you not know that the Gospel message is read prior to the infant being baptized? Is it not God's Word, more specifically hearing the Gospel that brings faith? I know you don't believe that in baptism God's Word is present with the water because...

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

The bible says Matthew 28:19-20 New International Version (NIV) 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to...

I think using terms such as narrow and broad is more of a modern thing to deal with ideas that have popped up since Luther's day that are not in our Confessions, so those terms are used to help clarify our beliefs. Not everyone uses those terms though so it's difficult to search out but I have...

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

I have answered it multiple times. Baptizing without intent to teach (because baptism and teaching go hand in hand) would be cruel to do to a human because without teaching that human being about the Gospel any faith given in baptism would shrivel and potentially die. We need to be fed on God's...
