    Lämmchen's Workout Thread

Not such a good walk today. I had some stuff I needed to do in two different nearby towns so hit them both, then got my exercise in before our friends came round for the evening. So I walked five miles in the rain, in a waterproof coat that leaks. But I got my exercise in, which is what matters.

Nice walk in the sun yesterday. My wife decided she wants to start walking with me rather than getting her steps in at the local walking track, so we did a route she likes. A little over six miles all in - significantly slower than my usual walking pace because she doesn't walk anywhere near as...

Arnold Schwarzenegger believes Heaven is a 'fantasy', says: 'We won’t see each other again after we’re gone'

Well, OK. Agnostics and atheists might agree with a perspective that's, you know, kinda agnostic/atheist in nature. But asking a question like that on a Christian forum does seem a bit like going to a meeting of your local Democrat association and asking how many people voted for Donald Trump...

Arnold Schwarzenegger believes Heaven is a 'fantasy', says: 'We won’t see each other again after we’re gone'

I don't imagine many people on a Christian forum will agree with the view that heaven is a fantasy.

    Novel arguments for God's existence.

What you're describing sounds a lot like the difference between the concepts of evolution and abiogenesis.

39 minute base run today. My legs felt like dead weights today but I got there, and ended up with my watch reporting it as a tempo level effort. It's a bit of a recurring theme that it takes me a little while to get my system warmed up ready to go, and then I struggle to keep the pace down.

    Lämmchen's Workout Thread

I did my suggested 62 minute workout. At about the three mile mark my routes diverge and it was clear that my shorter route wasn't going to be long enough to use up all the time, so I bumped to the next route up. I knew I'd have a bit of extra route when my time was up which was fine - I walked...

USA Federal student loans are due again. A record percentage of borrowers are seriously delinquent

It's remarkable how little financial literacy there seems to be lately. Only recently I was talking through some pretty basic stuff about personal finance with a friend of ours in his 40s, who commented nobody ever taught him anything about this before. You'd almost be forgiven there's some...

    Left Behind series

As entertainment it's an easy enough read, although I wouldn't accept it as theological truth. My concern with books like that is that when a theology that appears at least somewhat weak is woven into a story that's easy to read it becomes very easy to propagate the theology - people suspend...

    Lämmchen's Workout Thread

Yesterday my suggested workout was a 39 minute base-level run. I'm not sure where it gets the numbers from but I did the run, albeit a little harder than intended (my watch rated it as tempo level intensity, one step up from base). Today's suggestion is a 62 minute base-level run. That means...

    Lämmchen's Workout Thread

Yesterday's suggestion was threshold intervals. I didn't feel like doing that but did decide to go for a harder run, and ended up going harder than the suggested workout. After 5 miles I stopped and walked the last mile of the route because my legs didn't have much more to give. Today's...
