I was so busy today that I got my steps in without going out for a hike!

All this week I'm really busy and I have no idea if I'll get a chance to get to the trails.

5 hard miles today, speed repeats in strong winds. I planned it to be a 10k run but the winds got too much after 5 miles.

I woke up and it's already in the 60s and muggy? Ugh. I'm not sure if I'm up to a walk today because I have a lot to get done in the house since the door guys will be here bright and early tomorrow to install our new front door and sidelights.

Hotter than I expected when I went hiking in the mountains. I got about 7.5 miles in, I didn't put the usual loops on at the end because I felt like I'd be doing it for the sake of it rather than because I particularly wanted to stay out longer.

Curiously today I saw some other people hiking. That doesn't happen very often.

I did a couple of miles yesterday, but I was glad I chose to turn around early and head back. It got hot fast!

I was glad for my water bottle yesterday. In cooler weather I don't always carry water but yesterday I put electrolytes in it. It wasn't the hottest of hiking days - I still had a reasonable amount left when I got back to the car.

I almost always have my Camelbak on long hikes. It's a life saver.

Yesterday my husband and I went to a local gardens attraction in the rain to see the fountains because they were finally turned on yesterday. It was nice to watch them and I can't wait to go back when I have friends visit to show them. Plus, I always get over 5,000 steps and the average is 10,000 whenever we go walking there.

Yesterday's suggestion was threshold intervals. I didn't feel like doing that but did decide to go for a harder run, and ended up going harder than the suggested workout. After 5 miles I stopped and walked the last mile of the route because my legs didn't have much more to give.

Today's suggestion is a more gentle run. Hopefully the rain will stay away.

I didn't get a work out in but I still got 6,000 plus steps. Tomorrow the rain should stop enough for me to get to the park again.

Yesterday my suggested workout was a 39 minute base-level run. I'm not sure where it gets the numbers from but I did the run, albeit a little harder than intended (my watch rated it as tempo level intensity, one step up from base).

Today's suggestion is a 62 minute base-level run. That means either doing my 8-mile loop and walking a bit at the end, or a shorter loop and hoping I don't run out of route before the timer stops. At a base level I should be able to slow down enough to take the full time, as long as I remember not to crank up the pace anywhere....

I went to the park this morning before it got too hot outside, and then I came home and trimmed some bushes out front so nothing is touching the house. Our exterminator told us to do that.

I did my suggested 62 minute workout. At about the three mile mark my routes diverge and it was clear that my shorter route wasn't going to be long enough to use up all the time, so I bumped to the next route up. I knew I'd have a bit of extra route when my time was up which was fine - I walked the last part to get home.

I was pleased that I managed to keep the effort down in base level, usually I ease off if my watch beeps to say my heart rate is too high but that means I end up running at a faster pace.

39 minute base run today. My legs felt like dead weights today but I got there, and ended up with my watch reporting it as a tempo level effort. It's a bit of a recurring theme that it takes me a little while to get my system warmed up ready to go, and then I struggle to keep the pace down.

Rain in the forecast for the next few days, so I doubt I'll get out to the park to walk. Last night I did some line dancing to YouTube videos in preparation for my 40th high school reunion in September.

Nice walk in the sun yesterday. My wife decided she wants to start walking with me rather than getting her steps in at the local walking track, so we did a route she likes. A little over six miles all in - significantly slower than my usual walking pace because she doesn't walk anywhere near as fast as I do, but a pleasant walk and chance to soak up a load of sunbeams like we did before she twisted her knee last year.

Not such a good walk today. I had some stuff I needed to do in two different nearby towns so hit them both, then got my exercise in before our friends came round for the evening. So I walked five miles in the rain, in a waterproof coat that leaks. But I got my exercise in, which is what matters.

I didn't get all my steps in yesterday! :( I was so bad and it's on me. Today it's raining again and I just don't feel like moving. The barometer levels make my sinuses swell and I get really sleepy feeling from it. I don't want to do anything.
