Yeah, that was a surprise. I'd attended an Easter 'Stations of the Cross' presentation they'd put on one year - very well done by them - but what struck me was the number of John Piper quotes that were strewn about the walls along the way. They'd also held workshops on...

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

I'll call my own "Red Herring" first so you don't have to since you seem to jump there a lot, but... I'd not heard the term before, but here in BC the Mennonite Brethren denomination is quite strong. The're overseen (to a degree) by the MB Conference, but they hold no ecclesial power over the individual churches. They can make recommendations for church life and polity, but the individual...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Reading up on all the break-in's in my neighborhood the last few nights. The night before last my upstairs neighbor had her car broken into, plus a home down the street. There were a couple last night, too, only a block away. I've volunteered to do drive-through's in the neighborhood tonight.

Favorite things to see or do

Maaaaaaany years ago I went on a trip with friends to the East coast. We spent a few days in Maine, then ferried to Nova Scotia for a day. I'd love to go back and spend more time visiting Nova Scotia and the Maritimes

US and its allies attack Syria

The broadcast media has it portrayed a bit as retaliation for recent chemical attacks by the Assad regime on it's own people. It seems to me to be an ongoing issue that, under President Obama, only resulted in a bit of finger-wagging. The chemical attacks by the regime are not new. I don't agree...
