    Justification

I keep seeing this claim, but I've nowhere seen that "some Catholics" do any such thing. Maybe you can help me...?

    Binge Watch

Usually Storage Wars and catching up on episodes of SVU. Also Forged In Fire if I've missed one "Your weapon... will keel!"

    Justification

I think it needs to be distinguished that John did not say "Assent to do right morally, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand". If that were correct, then we would have a doctrine that says what I do in repentance matters. I can (and anyone can) morally assent to do what is "right" and do it. I...

Yeah, that was just the most inexpensive home thing, but the same concept, I think. You can control the drip rate and everything else.

There was one similar (I think) to what you're thinking - about $250 American. It'd look pretty neat on my kitchen counter :)

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Time to study for a bit. I found a an excellent training video on Udemy that, if I were to attend a seminar on the same topic, would cost me about a grand. This covers the same material as a professional seminar would, but for $20! Excellent resources and downloadable exercises to use with...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Wondering why this guy sitting outside at Starbucks with his wife and son (?) keeps glaring at me every time I look up. It's freaky. Then again, I could just be a bit paranoid and he doesn't care a whip about me... :D

    Justification

You missed my point. You've presented your own "talking points" into the discussion now, so what my (and other's) comments "revolve around" is a moot point. Anyway, the thread is an examination of "Justification", per the parameters of the OP. Can we get back to that?

    Justification

Your argument against "denominational dogma" should be ignored following that link you sent, supporting your pov via (I'm sure) a very fine non-denom apologist. The truth is, we all commit to a certain dogma - some churches and "non-denoms'" try to avoid this by creating "statements of faith"...

Menno, it doesn't become "more true" the more it's said. Your point is noted.

    Justification

Here's a problem I have with the "Paul doesn't bring up..." issue. The Epistles are directed to an audience of established churches that were already educated in the basics of the Christian faith. Why would the basic issue of the use of water need to be brought up again if the audience already...

Is the Account of Adam and Eve LITERAL?

This is an interesting point - one that I wondered about some time ago. From the biblical account, I wondered if physical death didn't enter in until the fall. Imo, "death" isn't suggested until here: Unless it was a statement of a truth that had already been. Just one of those things my mind...

With certain folks that's the best thing you can do. Just a hint.

    Justification

Hi all, There has been a small clean-up in the thread this morning stemming from some inappropriate comments. If you see part/all of a post missing, that would be why. Thanks.

How do you pamper your back?

Heating pads are wonderful! Maybe Ibuprofen to help loosen things up as well, but only if you needed it

Oh, I just drink regular coffee. I leave all the fancy drinks alone. Plus, they have a Keurig machine at work and I use that. I use the ground McD's coffee at home

McDonalds Coffee - imo the best of the "chain" restaurants :coffee:

    Justification

In Catholic thought (correct me if I'm wrong) wouldn't the above be false, as "sanctification" would not be used, but rather this "lifetime of striving to do God's will" would be an extension of Justification?

    Justification

Thus far, from your OP, I'm not sure that I see much of a difference between Catholic and Protestant thought - with Catholic thought perhaps encompassing "Justification" in both an immediate and ongoing sense (i.e. "being made righteous (or) just" and "(becoming) progressively more and more...
