    LCMS, Demons and Mental Illness

Because I am LCMS. Are you shooting for some record for asking the most questions of any other poster? Why not contribute to the thread instead of trying to derail it with endless questions.

    LCMS, Demons and Mental Illness

If they were mentally ill, then doesn’t that mean the Bible is in error.? I don’t think that in all cases people were mentally ill, but for those who were, but called demon possessed, I would think the Bible errs on that. No?,

    LCMS, Demons and Mental Illness

Lutheran LCMS. And my question was directed to either those from the LCMS or, at the very least, well familiar with the LCMS.

    I don’t understand your question.

    LCMS, Demons and Mental Illness

It doesn’t say it in Scripture per se’ but obviously in some cases they were mentally ill. And I read something about it in a Biblical commentary years ago, in one of my old (probably Catholic) Bibles.

No, I certainly am not trolling. And I’m not saying mental illness equals demon possession. I’m saying that those afflicted by mental illness were probably often described as having demons. Are you trolling?

    LCMS, Demons and Mental Illness

Back in Biblical times those afflicted by mental illness were probably described as having demons. People were ignorant of the symptoms of mental illness. Since the Lutheran LCMS views The Bible are free from error, how can this be?

How has COVID-19 affected your church attendance?

Yeah, but we already get out and do a lot now. Taking our chances, though I’d feel a lot better after being vaccinated.

How has COVID-19 affected your church attendance?

I don’t know which shot we’re getting, but we go in for our first (only?) vaccination at the end of the month.

You know, that’s very true and something I hadn’t thought of until I read your post.

How has COVID-19 affected your church attendance?

Ours closed for awhile but has been open now for months.

How has COVID-19 affected your church attendance?

I still go to church but attendance has been down, with from what I hear, lots of people are watching services online. Now, though, I’m noticing an increase of people attending. Hopefully as more of us get vaccinated attendance will rise further.

I’d like to also add that since they’re contemporary services, it’s nothing like a Catholic Mass, which was also important to me.

How does everyone feel about the online church sessions?

I agree with tango in post #21.

i think that’s what I dislike about that idea. The focus was on the MAN ON THE SCREEN and it was distracting....and gives the feeling we weren’t really being led by anyone. Since I’m new here and don’t know most of you, let me tell you a bit about myself. I was born and raised Catholic but was...

It seemed to me that they were indeed trying to hide that fact. And I prefer a pastor who is educated, not one that starts his own church and teaches himself.
