But some events are longer than just a moment. Like I would want to see the Resurrection but also the burial. The starting of fire, not just finding fire but when man first made it. Kitty Hawk, but the time it took to get there. The Exodus, follow Moses for awhile... too many things I would...
I’m not sure what Webster meant, but the players should never “throttle back”, they should play their best 100% of the time. However, the coach Jill Ellis and “company” could have throttled back by giving their star players more rest, and played their less-skilled/experienced players. However...
That's probably what I would do. I read where some winners just give the house back without taking possession of it so they don't have to sell it and then pay the taxes. Not sure how that works. I'd probably have to give the car back too. :)
I had to look it up. ;) Last year (2018) the estimated tax or assumption (depending on which state the winner lives in) would total about $650,000.00! I think that includes the property tax along with income tax. Ouch!
I don't think most winners live in the house anyway. So even if you won, you would be joining the past winners in selling the house. I'm not a Benz fan either, is that what the car would be? I have entered the contest before, but I haven't done it in a few years. I do like HGTV.
I commented that I didn't know the motive for the hand gesture in this particular case, which to me the meaning and intent of the message is more important than the signal or gesture. So should the fan be banned, I think his intent would need to be investigated. Then it's up to the people in...
Maybe it has been adopted by hate groups? I don't know what the motive was for the Cubs Fan to make the gesture. Maybe he was playing the game with everyone on national TV. WGN is national right? It's still a "super-station"...
Cutting grass is the worse chore to me that I do! It takes all day for me, I start by walking the property picking up any debris so I don't run over stuff. I also try to see if any animals are nesting in the grass (have killed frogs and mice but luckily have avoided baby rabbits). I start...
Funny, I’m not per se… a steak eater, but when I do… it’s got to be good. Two to three times a year I’ll get that craving for a thick rib eye and rock lobster tail. Steak is prepared as I have written. Rock lobster is French-ed and broiled, I have more control when I broil. I top it with...
Medium rare, I sous vide my thick steaks at about 126 F. for about an hour. I place them (still in the bag) in ice water to stop the cooking and to cool them down. But they can also sit in the fridge until I'm ready (works well if I have several guests for steaks). 80% of the time I use a...
Interesting, so I looked it up and I have sat through many movies over 3 hours long, Gone with the Wind, Lawrence of Arabia, Ben-Hur among many others. Of course, some I watched at home. I remember an intermission at the theater for Schindler's List.
I think I know what you are saying, but I think the fundamentalist are what you mean. Some fundamentalist even say that evangelicals are not Christian. Having written that, there are people from all groups that make less of another group. I would think that evangelicals being the larger group...
I will agree that for many this is the scenario that can ensue. But not much can be done to make sure no one is left behind. But for the foreseeable future, this will be an individual choice as I see it happening even with my family and friends today. People that love to sweep their floors...
Interesting thoughts, I seem to agree with Josiah’s sister. At least for the near future biology and technology is merging so fast that it’s difficult to keep up with the possibilities. From bionic eyes that let the blind see, to implanted contraptions that mimic organs that allow life to...
The way it should work, embassies are considered a part of the country they represent. Even though the hosting country is responsible for security around the facilities and diplomats, an attack or even stepping on the grounds is considered an attack or invasion of the country the embassy...
I've been following the thread, and have been hesitant to post. Mainly because of replying comments. But I need to bring another scenario to this lifestyle commentary.
The little stuff.
If I ask, what do you want for dinner, what/where would you like to eat... if I get a question back, there...
You may want to talk to the guy that lives near me. He grew a 1259-pond pumpkin a few years ago, he's been growing huge pumpkins for many years. Last year I drove past his house, and didn't see any pumpkin, he must have quit...
I would never give up vacation time, especially if it's paid time off. If you don't want to spend any money, stay home for the day(s), you'll save the money you would have spent to commute. If you buy lunch at work, eat at home, you'll save some money. If you work from home, try doing...
