Is the Reformation to blame for Mariology abuse?

That's a two sided coin there MC. The argument is just as apt for RCC doctrines being reliant on deuterocanonical books.

    Yet people do, saddening. :(

Can your bible make you into a bigot and a 'jerk'?

How are we teaching persons to live a life of godliness by living in open rebellion? I think people are using 'judgment' far too easily in conversation. Lets use an example. There is an active adulterer, paedophile and a murderer - which of these three would you be most accepting of in the...

Hard day of the week for you

I think the only thing worse than Monday, is the anticipation on Sunday.

    Once saved always saved?

"They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us."

Can your bible make you into a bigot and a 'jerk'?

I don't agree with that assessment. it suggests that anyone who opposed your view is a bigot. And the comment above is further insult to them. Certainly people can be bigots, but everyone who disagrees is definitely not one.

Can your bible make you into a bigot and a 'jerk'?

I agree with the sentiments outlined (in fiction and Australian politics - to boot) and I hope you understand I am of the same mind. I speak of this in regards to not harming the well being of others; instructing, correcting and in general - showing the love of God to others. And the greatest...

Prayer Request: A Good Man Would Appreciate Your Prayers

Just wondering how he's doing, any updates? Still in my prayers.

Can your bible make you into a bigot and a 'jerk'?

You have to admit, there can be an insinuation of it. May not be intentional, but people will quickly become defensive. Or as we have seen with some, aggressive =/

Can your bible make you into a bigot and a 'jerk'?

We are in agreement on those who use Scripture to justify being cruel. Though I am wary of saying the Bible is what leads them to such acts. This is an individual problem, and we know ideology and prejudice is shaped by many factors. People will always treat others unfairly or cruelly, that's...

Can your bible make you into a bigot and a 'jerk'?

The problem I think is an emotional investment that shadows a clearer picture of the situation. I know you are friends with persons who will be affected by those changes. I do not think, as you succinctly said "a desire to uphold traditional Christian marriage and the meaning of marriage as a...

Is the Reformation to blame for Mariology abuse?

I know that in Deuterocanonical books there are. I see as I've been away for a day or so this has turned into debates. My apologies for that, was never my intent.

Special Day tomorrow... Sept 13, 2015

What immediately comes to mind is the Fall of Jericho. Joshua 6 Now Jericho was shut up inside and outside because of the people of Israel. None went out, and none came in. 2 And the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and mighty men of valor. 3 You...

For Those Who Have Not Been Healed

I suppose the automatic response now is to assume disagreement, my apologies for that. I do not disagree with the position of healing, I have had family members experience this. You know what my bone of contention is, so I won't needlessly elaborate!

Necessity and sufficiency in relation to salvation.

I am thinking more in-line of defining dogmatic faith - such as the assumption of Mary, as a prerequisite of salvation within the Catholic church. It is positions such as that which keep me away.

Is the Reformation to blame for Mariology abuse?

I am sure they are Saints in heaven, but there is no established verses to support praying to them. In regards to angels carrying the prayers, this is a book of symbolism. Being literal or not, they are serving the Lord by providing the pleasing incense, not praying. I don't believe what I...

Necessity and sufficiency in relation to salvation.

Thanks Lammchen for the response. I was fishing more or less. I agree with the Nicene creed as the statement of faith, I was seeing if the Catholic response was wholesale or not.
