    Guacamole

This is without a molcajete. Roast some garlic in a dry pan with the skins on. Once a little blackened, remove the paper and press the garlic into a large bowl. Scoop out the flesh from an avocado or two and add course salt and some lime juice. Mash to the consistency of choice and top with...

    No arrests/prosecution for now

There is a Cabelas (big hunting and camping store) where I live and last Friday they had a run on guns and sold out, and they ran out of ammo to sell. I liked it better when stores were running out of toilet paper.

Could you work from home if...

With my previous employer I could work from home. A new company took over the contract that I was on and now I can't. Same job, nothing changed but the employer. My wife started to work from home 8 years ago, she hasn't been to her office since. Last year her employer did away with the physical...

Could you work from home if...

The email just came out, everyone that can work from home will work from home tomorrow. They are going to test the load on the system. This place will be empty!

Could you work from home if...

It's started, configuring 35 people to work from home that previously could not. Trying to get them done by Friday evening. I do not want to work the weekend.

    Funeral Meals

I can't recall any of the churches I have gone to "do" a funeral meal. It's not usually a church event. But I have seen church members provide food and all sorts of things, and do the cleanup for the grieving family at the church. The churches I have been to, do not charge for their...

Could you work from home if...

I would guess that half my building could work from home right now. There are about 2200 people working here daily. Another 800 would take too long to set them up, the COVID-19 pandemic would be over. The rest would have to come in... on a shift work as they do now. I would say, when I come...

    A week without plastic?

I grocery shop at a store that is very conscious of the single-use plastic so they have very little in plastic (comparably speaking) other than the meats that are already shrink wrapped and in the cooler. However, if I go to the butcher or the fishmonger (which I always do), they will wrap in...

    A week without plastic?

I couldn't go 5 seconds without plastic. Is there something more specific? Plastic bags, bottles, storage containers? It would be tough to get through a grocery store unless the butcher would wrap your meat in paper. Milk and orange juice would be tough, they could be bought in the carton or...

Whats the weather like where you live? (part 3)

Last year I had to scare away a huge bull frog that was trying to make it home! I do have a pair of beautiful mallard ducks that sit near the pool before I open it. I've seen then at least 5 years in a row.

Whats the weather like where you live? (part 3)

I can't wait for warmer weather. I'm going to open the pool this year, after all that talk that I was going to tear it out last year. I didn't even open it.

Whats the weather like where you live? (part 3)

You're getting our weather from yesterday. It was 56 this morning at 5:15 am. It will be dropping back into winter for the rest of the week. Maybe a mix of snow and rain on Thursday!

    Red Letter Christians

Sure, you can do what ever you want. But you are arguing with information. It's like getting mad at a book, or trying to reason with a dictionary or an encyclopedia. Arguing for the sake of arguing and not caring whose argument it is, is kind of boring. Personally, I didn't dig deeper into...

    Red Letter Christians

You're argument is with Jim Wallis and Tony Campolo. According to you, they were the ones that missed the point. However, that was their movement, agree with it or not.

    Red Letter Christians

Interesting, I had never heard of this so I looked it up. It doesn't sound like it was intended, right or wrong, to be better than the "Holy Scripture" thing. "They believe that these are the issues that Jesus spoke of directly, and therefore these issues should be social and political...

It actually doesn't bother me now. It's on the other side of winter and I can feel the end. Even with snow I know eventually it will go away. I'm now planning for Spring instead of hunkering down for winter. :)

    What are you watching?

I'm watching cable news as I do every weekday morning. Well, I have it in the background since I'm here at work and I have things to do.
