What is God's role in salvation?

I read it. You don't answer the question. The topic is God's role in salvation. Lutheran's believe that a person can lose their salvation. What, then, is God's role in salvation by keeping someone unto eternity?

What is God's role in salvation?

After God redeemed Adam and Eve, were they in danger of losing their redemption at any time?

What is God's role in salvation?

You never actually answered the question, Josiah. You just dipped into your rote reply without thinking about the question. Where, in my question, do I demand that God submit to my superior intelligence? You have created a strawman and spend the rest of your post arguing with your strawman...

What is God's role in salvation?

Did Adam and Eve go to hell or did God give them faith to believe and then grant them the ability to persevere in faith even unto death? Adam and Eve were sinless before the fall. Are you saying that Christians who are gifted faith are also sinless, but can fall later? I still do not...

What is God's role in salvation?

So...why do you teach that what God gives, man can destroy?

What is God's role in salvation?

2 Peter 3:9 does not mean what you interpret. How can I know? The context surrounding that verse tells me that your interpretation is wrong. I suggest you read all of Peter's letter. Then look at Acts 13 because there is no contradiction between the two.

Mary and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin

So parents save their kids with no conscious effort by the child, but adults cannot be saved unless they make a conscious decision to be baptized...and zero humans can be saved without water baptism. Is that a correct interpretation of your post?

Mary and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin

Is this your argument for why you refuse to baptize all humans, regardless of their confession of faith? What I read here is that your entire position is one of tradition, apart from scripture...or based solely upon a prooftext out of context. I'm curious, do you always abandon context when...

Mary and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin

So, why do you stop at infants who have no capacity to tell you to shove off? Why not baptize every human you meet, regardless of their opinion? If baptism saves, then baptize the whole world regardless of their opinion. Don't you want the whole world to be saved? I mean...you are COMMANDED by God.

    Need a gun

Lammchen, I'm sorry you feel you need a gun. I couldn't help you. I choose to not have a gun even though I live in a first rung suburb of a city that has been racked by violence this week. My neighborhood has been quiet and neighbors are watching out for neighbors. Be safe, be well.

What is God's role in salvation?

Your understanding of 2 Peter 3 definitely causes you big problems. A Reformed understanding of 2 Peter 3 reconciles the problem you are having. Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life...

    Open/Closed Doors

The OP said this: I shared Hebrews 12:5-29, expressing how the writer of Hebrews viewed the events of his life. Paul, in his writings, found contentment in all things as God brought him through calm and calamity. We worry far too much about the path and far too less about the process. God is...

    Open/Closed Doors

You are in sin. God ordained sin. Meaning that God, by His Sovereign will, chose to allow you to walk in sin. You never left His will. You did, however, walk in disobedience. I suspect our differences are in how we view God's Sovereignty in action and thus how we perceive the will of God. From...

    Open/Closed Doors

We are always in God's will. Good or bad experiences come by God's ordinance. When we walk with God, he disciplines us (trains us). That training may be very difficult, but it is by God's good purpose. Hebrews 12 tells us this will happen and we should not lose heart. Even when we have walked...

    Open/Closed Doors

The sanctification of the saint comes in many facets. The writer of Hebrews tells us this: Hebrews 12:5-29 And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines...

RCC Priest Uses Squirt Gun to Sprinkle Holy Water

Father Tim Pelc tries to stay off social media when possible, but recently, it's become unavoidable. Thanks to the photos from his socially-distanced Holy Week service in Michigan, which involved a water gun full of Holy Water, Pelc has become a meme. The sudden internet popularity has come as...

RANSOM FOR MANY OR ALL ?

The all isn't universal humanity, Josiah. You know this. If it is universal humanity then humanity is universally saved. You have such a massive contradiction in your interpretation that it becomes humorous. Yet, you're going to die on that hill fighting for your contradiction.

    Drive Up Communion

I suppose it depends on if you think communion is necessary to maintain your security in Christ. I saw Roman Catholics on TV who were desperate to partake in communion because they were afraid they would die in their sins without it. The priest had a steady line of cars with people desperate to...

RANSOM FOR MANY OR ALL ?

Biblical evidence that Christ died for those who believe. Not for those who don't believe. Galatians 1:3-5,15-16 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and...
