Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

No, ALL OF THEM pre-date Jerome's list.
  2. Origen

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

Hardly! All of them pre-date Jerome's canon list. Jerome gave his list ca. A.D. 391.
  3. Origen

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

That is simply not true. The canon lists I provided prove your claim is not correct.
  4. Origen

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

No need to do so. I have not made any claims, therefore I have nothing to defend. Nothing to pretend. There is simply no need to present any other view on the topic since you have zero primary sources\objective evidence for your claims. As I point outed in post 281: If it makes you happy...

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

You simply want to divert attention away from yourself and the FACT you have no primary sources\objective evidence for your claims. I am on topic. The problem is you made claims which you cannot support and now cannot stand being held accountable for them.

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

Since I made no claims there is nothing for me to defend. You, are the other hand, did in fact make certain claims and then was asked to provide primary sources\objective evidence for your claims. You could not then. and you cannot now. If, however, it makes you happy you may assume for the...

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

Again, that you cannot provide primary sources\objective evidence for your claims. That is what I claim.

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

You cannot provide primary sources\objective evidence for your claims.
  9. Origen

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

They were just men just like Melito, Cyril of Jerusalem, Athanasius of Alexandria, Gregory of Nazianzus. Amphilochius of Iconium, Epiphanius of Salamis, and Jerome and you have given no objective reason to think those men knew anymore than these men. And even after those councils many still did...

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

I am proving exactly just what I set out to prove. You cannot provide primary sources\objective evidence for your claims.
  11. Origen

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

The rest of the chapter, just like you, cannot answer my question. You said EVERYTHING else n Hebrews 11 is from the Bible. "They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword." Cite the passage for the section in bold. Check the 1611 KVJ maybe there is a note.
  12. Origen

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

Where exactly did the Councils of Rome, Hippo, and Carthage state Melito, Cyril of Jerusalem, Athanasius of Alexandria, Gregory of Nazianzus. Amphilochius of Iconium, Epiphanius of Salamis, and Jerome are all wrong because they followed the unbelieving Jews?
  13. Origen

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

Sure, sure! Anyone who does not agree with your view is siding with the unbelieving Jews. That is nothing more than your attempt to discredit those who do not agree with you. In order to accept your view one would have to believe that all those men (i.e. Melito, Cyril of Jerusalem, Athanasius...

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

And you still have no answer. There is a simple way to solve the problem. You stated: You said EVERYTHING else n Hebrews 11 is from the Bible. "They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword." Cite the passage for the section in bold.

    O.T. Canon Lists

Never said it could. How does that prove\support your claims?
  16. Origen

    O.T. Canon Lists

I never suggested anything like that. That view has as much evidence to support it as the one you have presented thus far. Thanks for your opinion but I find no reason to accept it.

    O.T. Canon Lists

That is wrong. We have no manuscripts of the LXX dating before Nicaea that have the books of Maccabees. The ones we do have date to the 4th century and even those do not agree with each other. Care to try again?

    O.T. Canon Lists

Try reading. The Bryennios List dates to 2nd century A.D. Melito's list is dated to A.D. 170. Origen's list dates between A.D. 220-240. Now provide a canon list from before Nicaea which includes the books of Maccabees.

    O.T. Canon Lists

Clearly you have no idea what the words Ante-Nicene means. The word "ante" means before so "ante nicene" mean "before nicene." The council of Nicaea was held in 325.

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

All of the following provide canon lists and all leave out the books of the Maccabees. Melito Cyril of Jerusalem Athanasius of Alexandria Gregory of Nazianzus Amphilochius of Iconium Epiphanius of Salamis Jerome https://christianityhaven.com/threads/o-t-canon-lists.10083/ And these are not the...
