If the prophecies in Daniel 8 cannot be understood without Maccabees, then doesn’t that prove Maccabees belongs in the Bible?

Asinine question I am person who presents the facts. I never said I didn't.

    O.T. quotes in the N.T.

In other words you have nothing. There is no evidence for your claim, not one Greek manuscript, not one quote in any Church father, NOTHING.

I am not arguing for it or against it. I provide helpful information in order to correct misinformation and for those who make not be aware of the facts.

If the prophecies in Daniel 8 cannot be understood without Maccabees, then doesn’t that prove Maccabees belongs in the Bible?

The reason for that is Ezra is ONLY referenced as High Priest in 1 Esdras 9: 40, 49. In the books of Ezra and Nehemiah he is Ezra the priest and\or scribe. He is never called the Hight Priest. That bit of information was conveniently left out of the conversation.

    O.T. quotes in the N.T.

You made a claim for which you have zero evidence. It is incumbent upon you to support your claim. Trying to turn the table won't help your claim. My evidence is the over 5000 Greek manuscripts (whole and fragments), N.T. quotes in the church fathers, and early translations of the Greek N.T...

    O.T. quotes in the N.T.

I was specifically addressing your claim concerning the name of God in the N.T. You stated: "The name of God was eliminated from those new testament passages that give the old testament passages that are quoted." There is zero Greek N.T. manuscript evidence to support that claim.

Is the book of Jonah ever quoted in the New Testament?

I can only tell you what the text does or does not state. The text does not use the verbs "celebrated" or "attended." The fact is if John's intended to covey one of those thoughts there is no reason why he could not have done just that.

Is the book of Jonah ever quoted in the New Testament?

The text does use the verb "attended."

Is the book of Jonah ever quoted in the New Testament?

I could not agree more. I prefer to follow what the text actually states rather than what it does not. The fact is if John wanted to covey the thought that Jesus' celebrated it, there is no reason why he could not have done just that. There is more than one Greek verb capable of doing just...

Is the book of Jonah ever quoted in the New Testament?

Mere speculation. No where does the text make that claim.
  15. Origen

Is the book of Jonah ever quoted in the New Testament?

No where does the text make that claim and no semantic sleight-of-hand can change that fact.

Is the book of Jonah ever quoted in the New Testament?

Untrue! The text of John 10 NEVER states Jesus celebrated it.
