    Starbuck's, anyone loves it too?

I don't like Starbucks. Too bitter. Don't go there.

    Is Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday.

You are using a very strange translation. Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. (KJV) there doth remain, then, a sabbatic rest to the people of God (YLT) So then, there remains a sabbath rest for the people of God; (RSV) There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the...

    Is Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday.

"Not abolished"? Actually the whole of the Old (Mosaic) Law (including the Sabbath command) was abolished. That the Jews continue to keep it is their choice. The clearest scripture showing the abolition is Eph 2:13-15 but there are more. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have...

"the one who stands firm to the end will be saved"...

I was baptised as a baby, went to catholic school etc.etc. But in my late teens I effectively became agnostic. Had I lost my faith? If I had died then would I have not gone to heaven?

"the one who stands firm to the end will be saved"...

Hi Josiah, I don't disagree with what you say. But are you also saying that once you received that gift of faith you could never lose it?

"the one who stands firm to the end will be saved"...

Yes I see that. It's the effect of less than standing firm and the - even the smallest amount of faith saves that I am querying. It's not all or nothing.

"the one who stands firm to the end will be saved"...

I don't see that saying even the smallest amount of faith saves us, or that if we lose most of our faith we are saved if a tiny remnant is left. Also stand firm to the end implies there is something we have to be doing until the end.

"the one who stands firm to the end will be saved"...

Do you have evidence for that.

How do you like your Chocolate?

Just about any way - hot chocolate drink, chocolate ice-cream, chocolate covered biscuits. But I too particularly like a dark chocolate bar. I prefer dark chocolate to milk chocolate.

How do you like your Bacon?

A full English breakfast is good but sometimes I like bacon on it's own between two slices of bread. A bacon sandwhich. Yummy!

    Ecclesiasticals VS Canonical

I guess so. Dave Armstrong has an interesting chart on the historical process of the NT Canon. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/davearmstrong/2017/05/new-testament-canon-historical-processes.html It's more than just Rufinus and Origen. It seems different parts of the Church had different views...

    Ecclesiasticals VS Canonical

Am I right; these books:- Wisdom, called the Wisdom of Solomon, and another Wisdom, called the Wisdom of the Son of Syrach, which last-mentioned the Latins called by the general title Ecclesiasticus, designating not the author of the book, but the character of the writing. To the same class...

    Ecclesiasticals VS Canonical

I'm finding this rather confusing. I have a few questions for clarification. 1. However ONLY the books deemed Canonical are to be used to establish doctrine BECAUSE they are they which hold higher rank over OTHER Holy Scripture. Which books are not Canonical but are Holy Scripture? 2. The...

Why do you think the dove didn’t come back?

Think about the state of the ark after 150 days with all that noise, animal excrement and smell. Wouldn't you stay away if you could? ;)

I disagree. To switch the car would be cheating. It would be totally dishonest. In either example I don't see that the host is cheating or being being dishonest.

I agree with you that if the rules are fixed, as in Savant's case then the odds are calculable and the best option is to switch. But, as I interpret it, in rstrats' version the host has some discretion. If that is the case then human psychology comes into it. Did the host really open the...
