Making chicken stock from a rotissier chicken. What's left of the meat I'll have in a sammie for lunch.

Great supper!!! I'll take a pancake or piece of french toast with that. Or regular toast w/ butter and jelly. And a slice of fresh orange :hungry: And btw, syrup on the scrapple or sausage, not ketchup.
This is one of my favorite breakfasts, but I'm much too lazy to do that in the morning.
Besides ..... Ain't nobody got time fo dat!
So to have it for dinner is great (or lunch, or late night snack, lol) :)
And ... SCRAPPLE? What part of Pa are you from?

Aaahhh, that's a myth :peep:

I've never had scrapple before. What does it taste like?
You can get beef scrapple, but pork is much better. It's on the order of a breakfast sausage patty, and has a peppery bite, black pepper.
It's a Philadelphia creation and tradition. Ppl throw rumor scares out that its made from scrapings off the butchers floor, but Philly folks have that kind of sense of humor, and don't mind perpetuating that rumor, in a sort of 'More for us' motive.
But good scrapple is made mostly from the jowl meat, which is really tender/sweet.
Of course, there is heart, liver, and a bit of filler and secret seasonings, too.
It's tricky to cook properly, you gotta know the secret and be patient. Most ppl quit after one or two attempts. But as a breakfast meat accompaniment for eggs, there's nothing better. But I do like good sausage links or patties, too.
Scrapple is good on a sandwich with some melted cheese, too. That's the only time I'd put ketchup on it. Mayo works too. Or horseradish sauce. Now I'm hungry! :hungry:

I used to have recipes for scrapple and always wanted to try it but never got around to it. But I remember it sounded good.
