When will God have mercy on me? I have been waiting for him to treat me better but I am all beat up.

I do not know God's plan for you but it's hard to see good when you're feeling so worn down. The book of Job sometimes is a comfort since he went through some really bad things in life.

The sad thing is we weren't promised a happy life here on earth but the joy is what comes from knowing that we have a Savior who died for our sins.

Take a look at the things happening and try to see if there isn't even one happy moment for you? I bet there are things you have overlooked? A kind word from a friend? A hug from a family member? A puppy licking your face? I'm grasping here but even going for a walk and not tripping can be a blessing.

Hi
What is it you want God to do for you and have you asked Him for it? He's your heavenly Father by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He loves you. If He's disappointing you, talk to Him, I'm sure He wants to hear and work things out with you.

That's a great comment Lammchen. The road of a Christian is an adventure to say the least isn't it? Mountain top experiences are usually followed immediately with the opportunity to walk the experience in lonely valleys. I can remember a smile from a stranger being a consoling moment in an otherwise bleak day. I like that saying from Leo Buscaglia "A single rose can be my garden, a single friend my world"

Angelhost, Jesus is the best friend you will ever have. Find your joy, confidence your all in Him, because that's where your treasure is.

And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them sharps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. ~Rev.5:8~

I can't leave it there ...

~Revelation 5:9–14~
9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of zevery kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels bround about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is fthe Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 14 And othe four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Hallelujah! Praise you, Jesus! :arms:

Have you ever read the footprints poem? It is no coincidence that you found yourself here on this forum. That is God having mercy on you. You are able to ask questions about His mercy. That is God having mercy. Your enemy, Satan does not want you to look at all of the new mercies God sends to you each day. There is so much to thank God for, but satan wants you to concentrate on the negative. Look for the positive in your life, and you will see the great mercies of God. If you are feeling beat up, just know that God is carrying you.

I will try harder to see his mercy but I was hoping he would treat me the same as I see he treats my friends who have everything given to them.

Sometimes it just seems that way but while God will give you things He is not a sugar daddy by any means and it is only throughthe trials that we get strong enough to help others. I dont know what He has in mind for you but I bet uit is something really special

Our sweet Lord Jesus was born in a manger and when he grew and traveled with his disciples he had no place to lay his head so you see, God expects us to work with what we have and not greed for more or covet what our neighbors have. Surely you do not think that God loves them more than you because of the physical items they are in ownership of?

I grew up begging for pennies and God's mercy was shown to me every time a stranger took pity on me and handed me a shiny 10cent coin with which I could buy a loaf of bread. Great is his love for us but we can be blind and always want for more without appreciating where we are now, for it could be worse, far worse. I will pray that God blesses you and that you grow in his love and perhaps someday you will be a stranger to someone and give them a shiny coin.

Try reading the story of Job, in it he suffers greatly but not because he did wrong nor because God hates him or is indifferent to him. His suffering is part of a much larger story that Job did not know about. His suffering plays a role in solving an issue in heaven between God and Satan.

I rather feel sorry for people who need things to promote God to them. What I mean by that is too often those who have been blessed with material things are not able to maintain a proper relationship with the Lord if those things are removed from them, they feel that God has also abandoned them. Old Testament was about God showing His blessing materially but that's not the case in the New Testament. The disciples needed to learn the discipline of having the Lord being present with them in a non-material way. They needed to feel not see His presence and to carry on whether they could feel it or not. My thought is that those who are truly blessed are well the poor, because they can actually see God. With or without material blessings.
