Getting started on my day. The snow's gone again so probably just finish the housework and go to the Greek shopping district for some goodies to stick in my cupboards.

That's really cheap for groceries!! I won't say how much I spend but it's a fortune because everything is expensive where I live. I look for sale items!

I buy sale items whenever I can and a lot of the groceries I like are what we call no-name-brands supplied by the grocery chain under their own in-house labels so they are usually inexpensive even if they are good quality. What makes my shopping less expensive is that I eat more vegetables and grains (rice pasta) than I do meat and dairy - cheese can be as expensive some meats on a per Kg basis. I do buy milk but because I use it slowly I buy the long-life milk (it's ultra high temperature milk which allows it to be kept at room temperature for up to 6 months). Vegetables are cheap, even the frozen ones are, so I make my meals with lots of vegetables and some spices and occasionally I have meat with them. I like the tastes of rich vegetable stocks too and we have a vegetable stock powder here (imported from Croatia I think) that is delicious. It helps with making very tasty meals without needing meat to add taste.

Vegetables, cheese and milk are quite cheap here. Milk is 50 cents. Farmers earn nothing with it.
It's great to not eat meat. Way too expensive. Haven't grocery shopped the last 2 weeks to save money which we spent yesterday and today in the cinema (popcorn and water 30 euro lol, crazy) and kidscity, an indoor playground and MacDonalds today. Wanted to go to the train museum but I went to the wrong, boring one, so we went to the playground instead. It was great.

I'm about to sleep! I am still painting (yes, this house is bigger than it should be) and today I got far but now realized I might need to go buy more tape and paint.

I went to bed early so here I am bright and early! I think since yesterday I worked so hard that I will take a day off. After moving furniture back in place that is.

I went out to meet friends over a light lunch - lent consistent fish & chips were consumed - then received a message from my brother and went to the office to see what was needed and then went home. It was nice to get home - the traffic was horrendous.

Divided the balcony in two parts. My small new cage fits perfect on the smaller part.
Letting them all get along didn't work.

You have some mean bunnies? I am told that there's a secret bio-weapon project in Oz that makes bunnies into super strength leaping carnivores so the weapon is to spread the transforming virus in an enemy country and watch the carnage!

Will you eat a lot of fish this lenten season? Have you ever had a Filet O Fish from McDonalds? I hated meat when I was a kid so I ate those instead of burgers.

no, no fish from maccas.

Fish on Wednesday and Friday, vegetarian other days except Sunday and Monday. Monday is kind of special because we have lunch together in the church offices with the pastor and pastoral assistant so we usually have something nice and it is a bit of a feast :)

Ah, okay. So you include Sundays as part of your Lent fast? That's interesting. Lutherans don't count Sundays (and in that way it makes it 40 days for Lent).

Watching baseball snippets (e.g. 'best of', worst of, amazing ___ of 2016, etc.) on Youtube.
I miss my sports. I get all the updates from spring training now for the Tigers on my Facebook feed, and I follow the Pistons somewhat. Makes one a little 'homesick'.
