Because there are numerous threads from Messianic to Latter Day expounding the doctrine of Saturday Sabbath keeping I thought it would be good to present scripture in a thread of how God changed the day of worship to Sunday

Scriptural reasoning:

Dan 2:20-22
20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever; For wisdom and might are his.
21 And it is He that changeth times and seasons; He deposeth kings, and setteth up kings; He giveth wisdom to the wise, And knowledge to them that know understanding.
22 It is he that revealeth the deep and secret things; He knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

Mark 1:15
and saying, The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God has drawn nigh; repent and believe in the glad tidings.

Luke 21:8
And he said, See that ye be not led astray, for many shall come in my name, saying, *I* am [he], and the time is drawn nigh: go ye not [therefore] after them.

Acts 1:6-7
They therefore, being come together, asked him saying, Lord, is it at this time that thou restorest the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said to them, It is not yours to know times or seasons, which the Father has placed in his own authority;

It is in fact God who changed the day of worship to Sunday, It's the first day of the week that the Lord resurrected from the dead and signifies a new beginning and a new age

Leviticus 23:10-11
10 Speak unto the children of Israel and say unto them, When ye come into the land that I give unto you, and ye reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the first-fruits of your harvest unto the priest.
11 And he shall wave the sheaf before Jehovah, to be accepted for you; on the next day after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.
15 And ye shall count from the morning after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave-offering, seven weeks; they shall be complete;

Christ is the firstfruit of the resurrection

1 Corinthians 15:20
(But now Christ is raised from among [the] dead, first-fruits of those fallen asleep.
23 But each in his own rank: [the] first-fruits, Christ; then those that are the Christ's at his coming.

Therefore this is the day that Jehovah has made; Let us exult and rejoice in it, because today God has begotten Him

Acts 13:33
That God has fully fulfilled this promise to us their children in raising up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm, a"You are My Son; this day have I begotten You.

So we give Him first place in everything, even over creation because He has brought in the new creation.

Colossians 1:18
18 And He is the Head of the bBody, the church; He is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead, that He Himself might have the first place in all things;

And why we call it the Lord's day rather than the Sabbath

Revelation 1:10
I was in spirit on the Lord's Day and heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,

Because He is our rest

Matthew 11:28-29
Come to Me all who toil and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

The disciples gathered together on the first day of the week
Acts 20:7
And on the first day of the week, when we gathered together to break bread, Paul conversed with them since he was to go forth on the next day; and he extended his message until midnight.
Collections were made on the first day of the week
1 Corinthians 16:2
2 On the first day of the week each one of you should lay aside in store to himself whatever he may have been prospered, that no collections be made when I come.
Sounds like church to me.

I agree and I go to church on Sunday but my day of worship is Saturday as I still think God wants us to honnor it but any day that someone wants to set aside to worship and meditate on Gods word is fine

I have to say that it reminds me of all the fundamental Protestants getting into liturgical worship that seems to be just a type of covering all the bases. iow tossed to and fro

Why is worship done on Sunday?

Because Jesus was resurrected on that day

Worship is to pay respect to God and should be done all of the time, not only on one day.

DID JESUS RESURRECT HIMSELF ON SUNDAY?

To know the TRUTH (Jesus himself) you should check 3 other threads:

Christian Heaven
"The Arguments for Sunday."

Theology online
"The Hoax of the Three Days and Three Nights."

Christian Forum
"Three Days and Three Nights."

May God illuminate us with His WISDOM.

interesting is it not ? lets put it into every day speak and apply it to any day .. "on the second day of the week (because in Hebrew the week days have no names save the sabbat .) when we gathered together to break bread ... he is never saying that particular day is set aside for breaking bread ..or on the 4th day when we gathered to gather to break bread ..." he is just sayin they gathered together that particular day and broke bread ..and while they were at it they took up a collection for the work of the gospel . as it was common to do it often and every where whenever they gathered .. they just as easily gathered again on the 5th day and those that could not make it gathered elsewhetre on the 3rd day and the 6th day ... he is in no way laying down either precedent nor command . .. its just assumed and added in by "men" .

1 Corinthians 16:2
2 On the first day of the week each one of you should lay aside in store to himself whatever he may have been prospered, that no collections be made when I come.[/indent]
Sounds like church to me.. this one is even easier .. go and read what he is talking about before he says this .. he isn't speaking of a set meeting time or place .. he is saying to make it easier for collection lets all bring the one off offering to the same place on the same day . .. its got nothing to do with gathering to break bread and have some set formatted meeting where you sing 3 fast songs 2 slow songs them listen to some one talk .
After all
elsewhere it says of them "With one accord they continued to meet daily in the temple courts and to break bread from house to house, sharing their meals with gladness and sincerity of heart, .." so we see again , no set day , not set building or place " led of the holy Spirit not herded by men .

God did not change the Sabbath to Sunday.

Constantine the Great changed it.

How? The story goes that up to that time, 312 AD or so, the courts were opened to transact business on the first day of the week. (I don't think they called Sunday - they were not in America) And this action was to be in agreement with its Jewish community that couldn't attend the courts on the Sabbath day.

So Constantine changed the day the courts would be opened from being opened on the last day of the week, to be open on the sabbath. Do you imagine what might have happened with the Jewish community that could not buy or sell on the Sabbath day because the courts were closed?

Constantine did this on his entire empire, the Roman Empire of the East. And later he declared Christianity as the religion of the empire, that order took a short time to be transmitted throughout the empire that was considered everybody. After this action, he become the Champion of Christianity.

Who do you think was advicing him? None other that an enemy of the jews, the Dragon. He did it through Eusebius, bishop of Caesarea, good friend and advisor to Constantine. Eusebius wrote a book (an ecomium) about the life of Constantine.

GOD'S DAY IS STILL "HIS" SABBATH, HE HALLOWED IT.

While the did meet daily for breaking of the bread, fellowship, prayer and the teachings of the apostles at first but after the dispersion we don't see that.

Thank you! I also explained that what was changed was the times, His seal, His Territory, Authority, and His Title. Altho the Territory remains the same.

Historians say that really Constantine never declared Christianity as the religion of the Empire but at the Edict of Milan in February of 313 AD, he stopped all emnity against the christians. Persecutions ended and their properties were returned.

They say that on his death bed he asked to be baptized to become a christian.

Was he truly a believer of Jesus?
He had shown to be a pagan and to worship other gods than God.

ARE WE WORSHIPPING THE REAL GOD???
