Do you have pierced ears? (or would consider doing it)

5 piercings in the ears, two when I was a toddler, 3 as an adult. The extra hole was for some special single small earrings, and was sometimes the only one I'd wear. I have a nose and navel piercing also. I rarely wear earrings any more though, I can't sleep in them and am usually in too much a rush in the morning.

At least you have the various holes there, to use when you want to, even though you don't often put anything in them.

Yes, there came a stage some decades back when after ears, nose and navel soon followed, didn't they?

I had mine done as an adult, the first one was my choice, the second one was a dare lol, so now I have 2 each side and glad I got them done as I have some pretty earrings to wear now..

Often at least 2 each side seems to be the way to go!

I got my ears pierced when I was 14 and then double pierced when I was 17 but those have closed up so I now only have the single piercings. I'm allergic to nickel so I rarely wear jewelry.

Laemmchen: Yes, the double piercing seemed to be obligatory for so many teens, right? Often mom would do it as well! (Did your mom?)

Oh well, but I guess that gently studded lobes can for some ppl represent some kind of rejuvenation, I suppose...

I can think of ways of feeling rejuvenated that don't involve sticking things into myself

For me a long walk in the woods works wonders. I come back aching to the point my legs barely work, but my wife says I look so totally at peace it's remarkable.

The double piercing thing seem to take off in about the late 70s. Which means that teens then might be in their 50s now, and their moms, who would sometimes have it done with their daughters, would be in their 70s or 80s now, so the double piercing has become a feature associated with all ages, really; nowadays, no one is "too old" to have had it done. (I'm not sure what this proves! but time does go by very quickly.) It boils down to personal preference, really. Even though some ppl have a stock response: "Oh, I'm too old to do that now!" right?

Single pierced here. My mom pierced mine with self piercers when I was in 7th grade. I would love to get the double piercing, but I'm so allergic to many metals that I rarely wear earrings. My wedding ring and one necklace is all I can wear.

I guess you've tried hypo-allergenic studs? Yes, a lot of ppl feel double studded lobes are classy.

He doesn't care. They are just ears and I'm not getting those HUGE ear rings that mess up your ears forever. lol
