Ya mean to tell me I've been played? :nonono:
Graham Cooke writes, "God is not “dealing with” our sin. He is establishing our righteousness. He gave Jesus both as Savior, to bring closure to the old nature, and as Redeemer, to turn a sin habit into righteous behavior. Then he gave the Holy Spirit to empower us in the process of being made in His image. God’s approach to our sin is different than you think. It is not “get rid of this and you can become that." Rather, He says,“you are this, and you have no need of that.” We do not become a new person by changing our behavior. We discover the person we already are in Christ and behave accordingly." I agree.

True we dont earn it but we can lose it if we are disobedientI like that quote because it is true that our identity is in Jesus the Christ and with that we can see that with the joy of being his child instead of having to try to prove it or earn it.

That was in reply to Lämmchen's comment re Job in Post #41:What sins do you say Job committed?
MoreCoffee continued to support his stance in subsequent posts. He wasn't sinless though so please don't try to add where scripture doesn't state.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God
Romans 3:10 as it is written: There is none righteous, no not one
Genesis 2:17 but you shall not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death, but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Job 42:17 And Job died, [being] old and full of days.

Now, I would have thought MoreCoffee would have been familiar with, for instance, the following statements in Gods Most Holy Revelation to us (some of which have already been offered):
Job died. Therefore he had sinned. The detail of his individual sins is not recorded because it is unnecessary. The principle stands regardless.
I think that means MoreCoffe's question can be considered rather meaningless.
I therefore wonder why he asked it.
Could it have been issued as a deflective technique trying to diminish the truth and strength of Lämmchen's pointed statement?
Or is it that, as suggested by (for instance) Posts #123, #125, #128, #129, #130 and #134, he simply likes playing mind games?
Or maybe elements of both?
If mind games do figure in any degree, it must be remembered that not all mind games bring honour to God.
Full O Beans referred to that in Post #135.
I suggest that we must all take care to ensure that we won't end up being weighed in the balances and found wanting
Jesus died, The reasoning in your post means that Jesus sinned, right? Except he didn't.
Yup and I agree withnthe wordplaydont be silly .. jesus laid down his OWN life - it is in the scripture -and he died after giving up his spirit .. and he did so for the sins of the may ,not his own .
your word playing is getting silly . we all know Job was a man no different than others -he was not born without the sinful blood of Adam in him . the lord Jesus was .
I often wonder about sins like those that harm the innocent. God doesn't forgive everything, the scripture is clear what happens to those who harm a child.
TRUE Repentence is key.Nope. God forgives EVERYTHING that is repented of. EVERYTHING.
TRUE Repentence is key.
Repentance is the key, if we are truly sorrowful and wish to obey God it becomes apparent in our lives
