Washing in the water of the word...the word of truth, Jesus Christ.
Washing in the water of the word...the word of truth, Jesus Christ.
I believe the word is the Greek, "rhema", used in that passage.ῥήματι is not "logos" the word .... ῥήματι means say.
I believe the word is the Greek, "rhema", used in that passage.
The water of the word, the rhema of God, the Truth that cleanses and sets us free. It's ῥήματι hremati it isn't logos the word. The bride of Christ is washed in water and spoken words which is what baptism is.
The water of the word, the rhema of God, the Truth that cleanses and sets us free.
Baptism is the symbol of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection and by being immersed in water, we are making a public confession of our new identity in Christ.
Baptismal water does nothing physically or spiritually, just as the scriptures say....not as for the washing away of dirt from the body but as one comes to it saved, with a clear conscience, already cleansed of sin, one identifies with the Lord Jesus Christ, making a public confession of his faith.Baptism is not a symbol. Baptism actually does wash away sins. The holy scriptures say so (Acts 22:16).
. Do you force salvation on people?
No, everyone is given a measure of faith. A person chooses to activate it when he hears the word of truth about Jesus Christ. Then---that person is able to be taught about baptism and is able to choose to obey about it.If your child was in a coma and decision was needed to save his/her life or wait for him/her to wake up and make the decision...which would you do?
God gives faith in baptism by His Word. His Word is preached before the baptism and the baby is baptized into the triune God's name. There is no need to deny a child God's benefits that are connected to the cross, to the forgiveness won there, to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit as Acts 2:38 states and Acts 2:39 insists for parents that it IS FOR THEIR CHILDREN.
True enough...
BUT where does the Bible specifically state that you may baptize or teach MARRIED people! Where, WHERE does it STATE that???!!!!!!! It does NOT! And can you DOCUMENT and PROVE from the written words of God in the Bible that there were MARRIED people baptized in the Bible, CAN YOU FIND EVEN ONE EXAMPLE OF A MARRIED PERSON BEING BAPTIZED IN THE BIBLE! No, you cannot. Don't lie, you CANNOT. So, it is wrong and false and unbiblical and blasphemy and stupid to baptize married people! NOTHING in the Bible says to do that! NOTHING in the Bible shows Jesus or the Apostles doing that! It therefore MUST be denied and forbidden! You MUST withhold it from any and not permit this to happen!
Come on! Pay attention to the BIBLE!
- Josiah (being terribly sarcastic - most unusual for him but nothin' else works, lol).
.
A person chooses to activate faith? That's not in my bible. God is always the one at work by His Word to be it us to faith and it's not up to us but God who activates it so to give man some power that isn't in scripture is going off someplace that shouldn't be gone to. Where is God in all that for you??
Persistent repeating of error does not change it into orthodoxy.,
. The faith of a parent or guardian of a baby is not transferable. ]
