But does not say that she was anything but human

Has someone said otherwise here in the thread? She was the Mother of God. She was blessed. She was a virgin at Christ's birth. Those are the things attributed to her.

So, to the OP...are you asking if Mary was necessary because she was Mary and someone special or was Mary necessary because of God's Promise to bring a Savior into the world through a virgin? Or maybe I'm just sleepy and trying to figure out where you were going with your question? LOL

you see .. that is dishonest ,
the bible does not cal her the mother of God . that is an attribute added by man .. it is NEVER stated by God . what the scripture DOES say is that which is in you (the child ) s "of the holy Ghost " he does not ever even say it is of mary .

in truth the child doesn't have to be "of mary" to become flesh any more then Adam who had no mother .. yet was made flesh by god . God creates flesh and blood . he did it in adam and he did it with his word JEsus .

it is rather sneaky to add that sentance in as though it is some biblical truth when it is NOT IN the bible at all .

add to that , she was a virgin at the time when it was announced she was with child . we can all read plain scripture . she went on to be the wife of joseph and they went on to have children .
to say she is the mother of God is to say that God did not exist in any other form while he was being manifest in the flesh as JEsus .. which is also ridiculous for to whom then did the lord jesus pray when he referred to the Father n heaven ?
she was the mother of the flesh man .. NOT the mother of God .. not now not then not EVER . the term"mother of God is blasphemy -it has always been blasphemy and it wil always be blasphemy .
anyone with any love for the lord God wil repent of ever using it .

Jesus is God. Mary carried Him in her womb and gave birth to him. She is the Mother of God. Jesus called her Mother. He is God. Mary is the Mother of God.

Hewas God in the flesh but He was also fully human so Mary was His mother also in the human sense. Jesus had to be human in order to gain victory over satan for as God that would have been unfair, Jesus showed that it is possible to have victory as a human. Jesus is the one to concentrate on, not Mary.

Lol correct, but also Mother of the divine sense of Christ. The term Mother of God is not meant to demean the manner of Christ or say God is created(Not sure how or why people keep getting this mixed up), but it more so emphasizes the nature of Christ and leads right back to him.

Yes, the blessed virgin Mary is mother of the Lord Jesus Christ meaning that she is mother of the whole person of our Lord. Thus Blessed Mary is mother of the man, Jesus Christ. He is a man born of a woman and he is God born before all ages yet he is one person not two and it is his whole person that is born of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Athanasian Creed puts it this way:
Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The right faith therefore is that we believe and confess that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and Man.

He is God of the substance of the Father begotten before the worlds, and He is man of the substance of His mother born in the world; perfect God, perfect man subsisting of a reasoning soul and human flesh; equal to the Father as touching His Godhead, inferior to the Father as touching His Manhood.

Who although He be God and Man yet He is not two but one Christ; one however not by conversion of the GodHead in the flesh, but by taking of the Manhood in God; one altogether not by confusion of substance but by unity of Person. For as the reasoning soul and flesh is one man, so God and Man is one Christ.

Who suffered for our salvation, descended into hell, rose again from the dead, ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of the Father, from whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. At whose coming all men shall rise again with their bodies and shall give account for their own works. And they that have done good shall go into life eternal, and they who indeed have done evil into eternal fire.

Mary is the mother of Yeshua's human aspect. That didn't make her the mother of God. God is the Father. Yeshua is the Son of God.

these are all intellectual carnal reasoned thoughts .. -again, the scripture gives her no such title at any time . so if God has not given her such a title , why should we ?
if God had seen fit to give her a title which displaces himself ( for nowhere in scripture is an offspring authoritative over a parent ) you would think he may have mentioned it . but he does not .

while i understand that folks like to hold fast to denominational lyrics they are bought up into .i find no excuse for superimposing those repeated lyrics over the top of scripture to make it look like it says something it simply does not say .

If God has not said it .. then from where is its origin if not God .

Don't you believe Yeshua is God?

again.. what does the bible say ?
-that iN him *Yeshua* ," For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. " -here we see the godhead dwells in him

John testified saying, "I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him. 33"I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, 'He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.' 34"I myself have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God.".. so here we see the Holy Spirit ( a person of the Godhead ) had to come to him and then dwell in him - interesting .. for if he was GOD then why did God the spirit need to "come" to him ?

then we have God the father .. and he is prayed to by YEshua ,the son .for the son is not the father but he is the speaking of the father .and the son is not the spirit but he is obedient as led by the spirit
the father is in heaven ..the son upon the earth ands the Holy Spirit comes and dwells with him.

when you have all three united .then and only then do you have the whole being we term "GOD " -mary was not the mother of God .

the lord JEsus is the manifestation of god in the flesh and she motherd this flesh being .. but God she did not bring forth . even the scriptures states clearly when the angel says to joseph ..
the child conceived is "of the Holy Spiirt " ... he is not OF mary .
i have heard it said he must be OF mary in order to be fully man .... i wondered at that for some time ..until i realized that cannot be the case . for if it was then your saying Adam was not fully man .. for he was not born of a woman but created from the dust of the earth . to make a man of flesh and blood is what God did in the beginning and he did it again when he made his own word spoken from his own heart .. become flesh . and in the end of all things the lord jesus is brought into subjection to the father from whence he came .

no mater which way its looked at - mary has never been the mother of the one true living eternal God and it remains a blasphemous terminology .
and has always been merely the mother of the flesh man whose name is JESUS the messiah and in whom ..later ,after the holy Spirit came upon him had the fullness of the godhead dwell in him bodily .

so the conclusion to the question -Why was Mary necessary? using ONLY scripture can only be - simply because 1- she was a virgin (for the sign would be he was to be born of a virgin .
and 2. she was betrothed to Joseph ..who was of the tribe of judah and the line of David who in turn was of the line of abraham unto whom it was promised-" in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed " .

Jesus called Mary Mother so you see that it was the title given to her. She was the mother of God and you can complain all you want but that doesn't remove the truth that Mary gave birth to Jesus and He is God. If you don't believe Jesus is God then you have other issues here you can discuss with your pastor I suppose.

call her anything you like but the focus should be Jesus, prayers should be to Him, attention should be on Him, I object to the worship of Mary and praying to her andfocusing attention away from Jesus

let me be very straight - wil you now lie to shore up a lie .. ? well, i guess that goes without saying as a lie cannot be upheld by truth .
he NEVER caled her "mother of GOD " .. it is an added assumption by you . god ..the son in the form of flesh was given birth into the world after he BECAME flesh by the Holy Spirit .
and he prayed to God the Father .. in heaven -thus is is impossible for mary to be the mother of GOD

these things are shown clearly and unambiguously in scripture . what you are saying ..is NOT in scripture at all . your having to add it and you do so because rome added it . get back to the scriptures . if not ,your simply buying into the adde lies of rome .

he doesn't like the answer to his own question perhaps ? so he is mocking the ongoing debate .it has morphed in topic as threads do.
people are so desperate to cling to traditions, even at the cost of casting of the plain word of God or adding to it things it does not state .

God had foretold that a virgin birth would be "a sign " so ..he needed a virgin
he had told of what lineage the salvation wotu be brought forth form , so she needed to be of that line -

mary was a virgin and she was betrothed to Joseph ,of that line . hence the bible gives the answer to the question.

From that was raised the point that she had no other attributes as rome has attempted to endow upon her .such lies as perpetual virginity, and co mediator ,and blasphemous titles of mother of God and queen of heaven .which the word of GOD NEVER bestows upon her .
