When you're out at a public attraction, like the zoo, museum, etc... do you step aside when you see someone trying to take a picture of something?

Never happened to me so far, so I don't really know how I'd react. My principles tell me that it would be appropriate to step aside, but there's a chance my brain would just not process the situation immediately and I wouldn't know what to do.

Absolutely! I don't want to mess up their photo, and I also don't care to be part of it in any case.

When possible I will...but sometimes it is just not easy to get out of the way.

I'll usually at least try to give someone a fair chance to take a picture. What counts as "fair chance" depends on the situation.

No. It's the responsibility of the person taking the picture to wait until they can get 'a clear shot' of whatever it is they're photographing.

My husband and I went to an attraction yesterday and there was a couple trying to take a photo and he was going to walk right into their shot. I held him back so they could have a good shot without him in it and they were grateful, but he was annoyed. If the tables had been turned, he would have been annoyed at someone walking in the shot too LOL

Years ago I was visiting DC and had a clear shot of a fountain to photograph. A couple just walked right into my shot, she sat on the fountain and he started taking pictures of her. So I just went and sat as close to her a I could without getting myself arrested, and pulled out a book. There's no way they couldn't have seen what I was doing so I figured I could be just as oblivious as they were.

After a while they moved on and I got my picture.
