the anti-medicine cult called Scientology.
What are you talking about? Scientologists only oppose psychiatric drugs that alter behavior. They are not against medicine in general.

I wonder how her distrust of doctors in recent years played into her cancer diagnosis and treatment being that she was in the anti-medicine cult called Scientology.
“The days of our years are threescore years and ten (seventy years)—or even, if by reason of strength, fourscore years (eighty years); yet is their pride [in additional years] only labor and sorrow, for it is soon gone, and we fly away.” Psalm 90:10 (AMP)

The last thing you should rely upon is what Scientology says about its own doings, Lucian.

Read the following.

Do you like it when members of other religions apply that same method of judging a doctrine to Christianity?

I will give Scientology the benefit of the doubt and believe their self-description.

You were not judging a doctrine.

That's your choice. At all costs, don't familiarize yourself with the facts if they are too much for you to handle.

Don't know if Scientology is part of the issue or not. She was diagnosed recently and passed quickly. For this reason, I am suspicious she had pancreatic cancer as this one goes quickly.

I doubt that Scientology had anything to do with her illness (Colon Cancer) not being treated until late.

Really? My whole immediate family (in Australia) and one blood relative (overseas) died of cancer, and they all trusted the doctors and recommended treatment(s) (or in one case did so only to placate the worries of loved ones), and they are all dead now.

It amazes me how western medicine can have such a poor track record of curing major disease yet continues to be blindly trusted by the masses.

You're absolutely right! Pancreatic cancer is a silent disease with barely any symptoms until it's stage 4 and then the person has a rare chance of survival.

You were judging the doctrine of Scientology by linking gossip articles from irrelevant websites. I was asking you, since you are a Christian: if someone on a Scientology forum linked an article that presented Christianity in a bad light, would you like that?

Calm down. I was doing nothing more than trying to help you by suggesting that you take a quick look at just one piece of information that's NOT from the Church of Scientology itself before you decide what to think about this controversial organization.

I'll try to remember not to do anything like that again which would run the risk of unnerving you like this seemingly harmless suggestion seems to have donie.

I have since learned it was colon cancer.
