What does this mean?

It means forcing one's theology upon the text is the wrong way to approach the text. That method is nothing more than confirmation bias. We should allow the text to inform us. The context of the Bible is found in the ancient Near East\Mediterranean world. In other words, we should strive to see the text though the eyes of the ones who read. God chose people to write the Biblical text, and those people wrote using grammar, in literary styles understood by their peers.
