Just waiting for the humidity to drop a little, then off for a walk in the woods. I'm contemplating taking my string trimmer with me, as some of the trails are quite overgrown. I'm not thrilled about the thought of carrying it for six miles of hiking though. Maybe I can do a load of cutting back, then go back to the car with it, do the walk in full, then go back to the lower sections from the far end and trim there as well.
The local park would ideally be doing the trail maintenance but they are short staffed so more work falls to volunteers. As one who loves the trails it's good to be able to help keep them open. Usually I hike with a folding saw and some pruners so I can cut back stuff that blocks the trails, but something like a string trimmed is a bit bulky to be hauling any distance.
