I think this is one of those will agree to disagree things, you appear to be well grounded in what you believe as am I.

You didn't quote anyone so we don't know to whom you are responding.

Not really. So it's better if you quoted people so that we do know.

All she did was ask for some clarity from you, and you cop an attitude? As a fellow Christian, I expected more from you. Now I know I shouldn't.

You and Lamm are the only ones I was discussing with, I really didnt think that statement needed more clarity and no it is not an attitude but rather discouraged at I am not sure what but it is discouraging I will leave this thread for now since I seem to upset you.

Clearly it's you who is upset. So much so, you can't articulate what's bothering you and why you're discouraged. Yet I'm the one who's upset?

Son, if this is how a "Christian" is supposed to act, you are far from being one.
Seeing we are discussing True Biblical Repentance... now is a time for you to practice some, and make things right before God and with a brother in Christ.

Waiting to see which fruit comes from you: spiritual or carnal.

"You will know them by their fruit."

Here we go. Once again, you think it's what you do that makes you a Christian. Speaking the truth is not a sin. Plus, why are you inserting yourself into a situation that has nothing to do with you? Looking to cause strife?

You would have told Paul he wasn't a Christian when he rebuked Peter. You would have told Christ He wasn't the true Messiah, because chasing the money changers out of the temple, isn't a nice thing to do. It's not what we do that makes us a Christian or a non-Christian. It's what Christ has done for us. I realize that teaching is lost on you, but maybe one day it will sink in. Speaking truth is not a sin. I have nothing to repent for. You need to repent for teaching works over faith and forsaking the gathering together of the saints. Plus according to you, I'm blocked. Why are you seeing any of my posts?

"These six the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren."

- Prov 6:16-19

These are examples of attitudes and behaviors a True Disciple must repent of. Sadly, they are rampant in our churches today because of the "doctrines of demons" that have infiltrated the "Christian" religion telling people there is no need for repentance because they are eternally forgiven. We've lost the "fear of the Lord" in our congregations and it's evident in the carnal fruit being produced in those who claim the Name of Christ. Without that "fear of the Lord" many walk around without spiritual "understanding" and "knowledge."

"The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverse mouth I hate."

- Prov 8:13

Oh yes. God sees and hears all we do. He will only see Christ in us when we actually crucify the deeds of our carnal nature and allow Christ to abide in us. Believing for a minute that Jesus is dwelling in us when we act contrary to God's ways is pure foolishness and proves we are greatly lacking in wisdom and we really don't understand who God is.

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction."

- Prov 1:7

Speaking of such who shun Godly counsel and presume to be 'righteous' in God's eyes 'because of what Jesus has done' even though they still are mostly carnal in their ways the Word of God declares -

“Then they will call on Me, but I will not answer;
They will seek Me diligently, but they will not find Me.
29 Because they hated knowledge
And did not choose the fear of the Lord,
30 They would have none of My counsel
And despised My every rebuke.
31 Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way,
And be filled to the full with their own fancies.
32 For the turning away of the simple will slay them,
And the complacency of fools will destroy them;
33 But whoever listens to Me will dwell safely,
And will be secure, without fear of evil.”

- Prov 1:28-33

Are we coming to maturity in Christ? Let us show it in our speech and behavior. May we repent of those things God hates and that "will not inherit the Kingdom."

I am speaking here as the "oracle of God." Are we willing to "hear what the Spirit is saying" ?

Every day. It's the only way.

Question is... are YOU? For your eternity depends on it.

"You will know them by their fruit."

He relies on Jesus for his eternal soul to have rest. Repentance is the gift of the Holy Spirit.

This is a staff notice to please avoid personal accusations and stick to the topic. Unless a member outright denies Jesus as Savior then all who have a Christian icon (we have many) will be viewed as Christian.

You should know. You claim to be the oracle of God.

In post # 110, Michael said: "I am speaking here as the "oracle of God.""

This is a staff notice to please avoid personal accusations and stick to the topic. Unless a member outright denies Jesus as Savior then all who have a Christian icon (we have many) will be viewed as Christian.

The individual I was referring to here (zec) was mocking the disciple who goes by the name "Psalm 91" for speaking Truth.

People can mock me all day long, as they did Christ, and it doesn't bother me. I wear it as a badge of honor knowing I am in good company with the Apostles and Prophets.
But attacking another - on a thread I started - for standing by what the Word says, is wrong, and yes, un Christ-like. May he see the error of his ways and repent as Jesus instructed clearly.

And to deny that Repentance is a vital necessary part of our salvation is just pure foolishness. One must ignore the main message of Jesus and the Apostles to accept anything less.

Again, I would love to have anyone teach differently than I have, using ALL the passages I quoted directly from the Scripture, and attempt to prove that God sees us through Christ and we are eternally forgiven regardless of our behavior and will still be counted as "righteous" in His sight even though we don't actually strive to "put to death the deeds of our flesh."

You really shouldn't openly dispute a staff member in public as it's a formal act of disobedience of which you have no justification for doing seeing as Liam is a governing authority on this forum and is covered by Romans 13 in regards to this forum. If you have a grievance with said authority figure than do so privately out of respect not only for the staff as a whole but for the community at large. It's also bad forum etiquette as staff really don't like getting openly challenged in public on most forums and I have the feeling this one won't be an exception to that.

As to the topic at hand, repentance is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and is initiated by the Holy Spirit. You cannot start repenting without it and you can't finish repenting without it. It has nothing to do with you and your abilities or lack thereof as to whether or not you are repenting. It is mentioned not as a work you need to do in your own strength but an form of evidence you can use to examine yourself to see if you are in the faith.

When you do things your way, you give all the glory to yourself which robs the glory that God is entitled to for any good thing you do when the Bible clearly states that you are give all glory to God for whatever you do. This is why so many are challenging your theology because of how obviously lacking it is to most everyone else but your pride won't let you see anything that anyone shares with you.

Here are some of my prayers for the day:

Morning Prayers

1] In the morning, when you rise, you shall bless yourself with the holy cross and say:

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

2] Then, kneeling or standing, repeat the Creed.

II. The Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic* Church, the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

* catholic means "universal" and is not a reference to the Roman Catholic Church.

3] Then pray the Lord's Prayer:

III. The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven. Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen.

4] I thank You, my Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger. Keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. Into Your hands I commend my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the Wicked Foe may have no power over me. Amen.
Evening Prayers

1] In the evening, when you go to bed, you shall bless yourself with the holy cross and say:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

2] Then, kneeling or standing, repeat the Creed.

II. The Creed

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

Our Father who art in heaven. Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen.

Luther’s Evening Prayer

I thank You, my Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have graciously kept me this day, and I pray You to forgive me all my sins, where I have done wrong, and graciously keep me this night. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the Wicked Foe may have no power over me. Amen.

Then go to sleep promptly and cheerfully.

What say you, Michael? Am I repenting enough?
