A number of Orthodox patriarchs have been heretics and I dare say that some today may be. A pope could be a heretic as long as he never makes an ex cathedra pronouncement on doctrine and morals that is heresy. I cannot recall a heretic pope though some (a few) were scoundrels.

Is your Pope today a heretic?

How does a Pope make an ex-cathedra pronouncement?

Can you give a recent example?

Notice it does not say "To all whom He gave special grace to receive Him..."

It refers to those who did NOT receive Him by believing in His Name...

See above...

This is tedious...

The Greek is exousia - It means authority... It means POWER...

By exercising one's God-Given Authority...

It looks like a little obedient kid who loves his dad...

It is a conditional state, this God-Given Authority to become a Child of God...
A person must receive Him, believing in His Name...
Only then will one be given Authority to become His Child...
This means being obedient as a child to a loving father...

Back at ya!

Arsenios, you rarely answered the questions, calling it tedious. You went to interpretation, but much of your interpretation is not observed in the verse. You simply stated your bias as an answer.
Indeed, inductive Bible study is tedious. It's why most people don't do it, choosing to just believe any EOC shuckster who says "tradition" instead. Yet, inductive study will yield deep results. You will recognize where your own biases are located and be forced to let the text trump tradition. That probably scares you, which is why you likely will flee from inductive study. Just run to Moscow or whatever pointy hat location to get your tradition fix.

So which Faith then does the definite article define??

I say Christ's Faith...

Do YOU say your personal faith??

And if yes, where does it say personal faith is given by God to the unrepentant?

God given faith. Read Hebrews 11 for evidence.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

You are just like the Pharisee, who boasts of his works
and all you have done and what a good little Christian you are.
It's always about you.

What a snotty and small minded thing to say...

Lizzards have more heart than this...

Christianity is not about you and what you have done.
It's about what Jesus has done for you.

YTG would agree...

Sheesh!

That is a difficult translation...

But your answer is: "One's God-Given personal belief..."

Hebrews 11 does not support your view...

God given faith.
Who else would give it? Would you give it? Perhaps some other spirit gives it to you?
Hebrews 11:1 tells us what faith is. This is what God given faith looks like.
It is interesting to see you twist words around. Are you often this dishonest?

You both should pray for yourselves.

I pray for myself all the time, and hardly anything good ever happens...

But if I pray for others, all manner of good ensues...

So I pray for others...

And ask others to pray for me...

What is your agenda here?

Patriarchal heretics...

Many in the RCC regard the current Pope as a heretic...

He usually writes something down informing everyone who reads it that it is an ex cathedra statement.

Usually? How often is that?

How recent?

Oh, let's say - In the last 10 years?

Or the last 50?

Or hundred maybe?

I hope you did not mean that in a bad way.

Not even a little bit bad!

This place has not been this active in months...

And I give all the credit to you...

Oh, and maybe some small bit of it to God, mind you! :)

Trolling judgmental hypocrites is a hobby of mine...

I thought the Army was known for "Hooah" while the Marines were known for "Semper Fi".

Huzza is Hornblower English Royal Navy!
