Another long stint in the dust and the grime.
I had to postpone the grinding because I open a window to blow the dust out with a box fan and as soon as I opened the window the wind started to blow the weather in, including the dust I'd just blown out. So I got busy chiseling out the rest of the mortar joints that were damaged by the angle grinder and refilling them with fresh mortar.
After lunch the weather eased off a bit so I could get the fan running, and ran the grinder in a load more spaces. I knew most of the work was done in the previous stint but today there was more left than I realised . Now I'm done with most if not all of the grinding in that room. The final check will be when I come to fit the insulation panels, but I need some work done on the roof first. I'll pay someone to do that, I don't feel like working at that kind of height on something I'm not familiar with doing. Now I just need to give it a day or two to let the rest of the dust settle, then run the shop vac in there and from there I can do the rest of the work more or less at my leisure. I still need some more cementing done - where the brickwork was done to a low standard the angle grinder has highlighted a few areas where the mortar needs some TLC. The biggest gaps are filled, but I suspect I'm going to be creating a few more before I'm done.
And now I'm cleaned up ready for dinner.
