I had a rug in my bathroom that melted into the tiles and now I'm trying to figure out what to use to remove all the adhesive and rug parts. I looked on amazon for adhesive remover and not sure which one will do the trick. I have some stuff called goof off that took a bit off but it seems that using that will take forever to remove all the gunk on the tiles.

Often the trouble is that a solvent that will remove the rug and adhesive may also damage the tiles.

My go-to solvents are usually surgical spirit and acetone. Be careful with acetone - it's very flammable and you will want decent ventilation or the fumes can become overpowering. I also use acetone as a fire starter when I'm burning sensitive documents. Surgical spirit would light but acetone lights far more vigorously.

Thanks. The goof off did not damage the tiles; they are not actually tiles but tiny stone-like thingies.

I mowed my yard this morning which takes about an hour and a half and trimmed back one bush in the front yard. I'm still struggling with the CPAP machine I am using at night for sleep. I am pretty tired today

Watching the rain. After a glorious day outside we got home and within half an hour we had what looked like a monsoon outside. It looks like it stopped now.

I have some Goof Off but forget it's in the basement. Did you use a cleaner afterward?

I've got some electrical work that really needs to be done before it gets hot. Last summer I wanted to do some of the work in there but the temperature was nearly 130 degrees, so I figured it wa a Really Bad Idea to be working in a confined space. Then I got busy with other things, and then it got so cold in there I couldn't feel my fingers so figured electrical work would have to wait.

Once this piece of work is done, even if it isn't fully connected to everything else just yet, it means I'll be ready to put a ceiling fan into a room that currently has no light at all. It did have a wall light but it was on a hideous piece of knob-and-tube wiring, so I ripped it all out. Now I just need to put something else in there.

I haven't finished the job. There is a whole lot of work there to do it. I mistakingly put some water on some of it and now it's like cement and won't come off. I don't think I have the ability to do this. I may just tell the manager when I move that I couldn't remove it.

I'm too tired to do much today. I didn't get a good nights sleep last night. Having difficulty getting use to CPAP machine.
I got my notes done for work, so at least that is done.

You know what really works well? Oxyclean! I use it to clean all sorts of things and it won't harm you! I would spray the area with some water to get it damp and then sprinkle some Oxyclean powder on it and let it sit for about 20 minutes then come back with a rag and rub it to see if anything comes up. Maybe use hot water?

I have a dehumidifier that I was going to toss out because it was really smelly and stained inside the bucket that captures the water. I've bleached that thing and used all kinds of chemicals to clean it but then this year I sprinkled some Oxyclean in it and just set it back into its spot. As the water filled the Oxyclean worked and my bucket is shiny new again! I'm so impressed and pleased and the smell is gone too so I don't have to buy a new dehumidifier.

Have you tried to nap with it during the day?

Working (on call) which is good. Gives me time to catch up a bit on the online training stuff.

Trying to get myself in a mental state to get into my crawl space and play with cabling. I'm still trying to figure out the best way (and the least disruptive way) to replace the entirety of the upstairs lighting circuits and put them all on a nice new circuit.

I had a pretty good nights sleep last night with my CPAP. Hoping this is getting better.

At least it's probably not a hundred degrees down there in the crawl space :) You're lucky it's not the attic, right?

Er... no. The crawl space is off one end of the attic. It's 85 degrees outside and warmer than that in the crawl space. Fortunately I was able to get at some of the cabling without going very far into the space. There's a huge great bundle of it there, and thankfully a large part of it is because when I first ran the cable I just joined everything together so it all worked because I had other things I needed to do. That meant I had a temporary solution involving about 20 feet of cable to connect two points barely three feet apart. I need to run another cable up there, at which point I can break things apart and get rid of some of the surplus. That will be very handy.
