This is also very true. One church I attended for years (and only left because I moved out of the area) had a lady who would routinely jump and wave her arms. Several times I had to put an arm out to stop her jumping into me, because she'd often sit in the row in front of me. She sat on the end so she could step sideways into the aisle and dance - I sat on the end because I'm a big guy and like the extra space. Every time I warded her away I was thankful that I was twice her size and strong enough to do so, rather than one of the elderly folks who were unsteady on their feet and who could have been knocked over. She typically looked at me as if it were some kind of affront to push her away rather than leave her to keep bumping into me. I always thought it was particularly inconsiderate to jump and wave arms without at least checking you weren't going to be hitting anybody.
It's not difficult to find verses in Scripture about expressive worship but somehow I doubt that it would be part of God's plan for one person's "expressive worship" to cause serious injury to another.
I once hit a guy w my flag. It was a flag meeting. They had that nonsense years ago, flag and dance meetings and of course I had my eyes closed and he was so stupid to go walk there. BAM ouch I think it hurt. He said nothing.
In my moms church you were only allowed to flag in the back. My kids loved that. But the pastors wife thought it was too noisy. Shhht quiet so we never came again and gradually noone flagged anymore. Goodness, once a couple got married and all the pastors disapproved so the guy asked my ex a week before if he could do it andall those pastors were sitting there disapproving. What a monstrous atmosphere. I did not dare use a tiny flag. Really nice marriage celebration not.
But some ppl dont care about others. One woman would always hop around and that was annoying if you sat in the front cause she would just bam fall on you. Once she fell on me but my unsympathetic growl then made her stop doing it. Bahahahaha good old crazy times.
