Interesting, I never thought of natural gas powering a generator. I've always thought of them as running on gasoline or diesel, and therefore needing a supply of that on hand.

What sort of power output does your generator offer? Part of my concern with a generator is that the power goes out sufficiently infrequently that I'd be concerned about long term storage of liquid fuel.

Bread, or flour to make it
At least one type of bean
Nuts
Potatoes, be they growing in my yard or store bought
Coffee
Ketchup/mustard
Salt
Tobacco
Cat food

Interesting toilet paper was mentioned. I haven't actually bought this in years and only use it when I'm out and have to. Little portable bidet works a treat, has saved me thousands over the years and (done right) it leaves the area completely clean - unlike tp which leaves people walking around with smears of waste stuck to their behind.

Interesting, it looks like that works on either propane or natural gas. I'm not sure I want a honking great propane tank outside but good to know options are there.
