When my children were younger we built snow forts, dug tunnels in the drifts, went skating, sledding and cross country skiing as well as snow mobiling. We often skied 10-20 kilometers during a day. If we had extra money we would go downhill skiing. There is so many things one can do when it's below freezing.
Now...there is a point where it's too cold. I used to deliver news papers as a kid and I remember two or three times when I walked the route in -50F temperatures. I had no exposed skin. I wore a fleece lined "Jason" mask and I had an ice beard by the time I got done. A little fact: Snow, at -50F, is really loud and crunchy when you walk on it.
