Paul says to them: “Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood” (Acts 20:28). In these verses the title of “Elder,” coming from the Greek wordShould I have said that to you when you relied upon the Catholic Encyclopedia and Wikipedia to try to verify some of your claims??
“Presbuteros” (also translated as “Presbyter”),[1] is used interchangeably with the title of “Overseer,” which comes from the Greek word “Episkopos” (also translated as “Bishop”). [2] This is also seen where writing to Titus, the apostle Paul talks of elders (Titus 1:5) and in the next breath calls them overseers (Titus 1:7).[3] The titles of bishop, overseer, presbyter, and elder are synonymous words in the New Testament, describing the same ministry office.
