When you think of stairs do you think of going up or down?

I tend to think of stairs going up.
Perhaps that is because I see more of them.
Or is there some deep psychological reason?.

up.

But we most often come upon a flight of stairs when we're at the bottom of them, don't we? 😉

I am starting to hate stairs because my knees require me to be so very careful. It is much worse going down.

I guess I just think of Genesis 28:12
12. And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
I am standing on the earth and what floor do I want to be visited on.

The human spine looks like a ladder with a strange handrail grips. Each vertebra has nerves (angel messangers) branching off at the different floors. Do I want to be at the heart, or be met all the way to the highest cognitive level?

Ok Stephen is this what you might mean?

……
I never thought of descending myself before your post.
II Corinthians 12:2 kjv I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
What floor of our thought levels is this? Do we have a spiritual moment, but physical moments bring us back down?

When thinking of stairs, my first immediate thought is going up. I have stairs in my apartment, and they are a great way to keep fit and burn calories naturally. This was especially the case during a lockdown, where freedom of movement was restricted. This is a bit deep, but life could be described as stairs with various obstacles in the way in some respects.

The stairs I use most (99 percent of the time) are the basement stairs, so it seems that down is the thought. I have steps at my porches but they are only two steps, so I never consider them stairs.

Ha, so what constitutes stairs? How many steps are needed to make a stair?

They go down and up to the point that you have to then go up and down :p I have 48 stairs to my room or office. Three-story home. It's fun to run up them as fast as you can :p

Up the stairs for me. The popular cockney rhyming slang in the UK embedded that in my brain.

Up the stairs = Up the apples and pears.
